Two Truths and a Lie #Giveaway #comment

This week our guest has a game for you and a prize so be sure to comment for your chance to win. Hello Daryl Devore!

Two Truths and a Lie

Have you ever played the game – Two Truths and a Lie. Teachers sometimes use it near the beginning of the school year as an icebreaker. It’s a fun way for the students to learn about each other.

Simple concept – In any order, state 2 things that are true and one thing that is a lie.

Example – I have a second-degree black belt. My son lives in North Carolina. I am a belly dancer.

All three are believable and yet possibly untrue statements. Now it is up to you to decide which is the lie. Post your answer in the comments section.

I will select one person from the correct answer list and giveaway a copy of my rock star romance- What Happens in Bangkok.

In my latest book Two Truths and a Lie, the two main characters play this game. With some interesting results.

Why did I choose this? I like my books to have some element that is out of the box. In an earlier series, the hero loved Knock Knock jokes. I had to restrain myself from using too many. Once you go down the path of Knock Knock jokes you risk being trapped.

No – I will not write a Knock Knock joke.

No – I will not write a Knock Knock joke.

NO – I WILL NOT WRITE A KNOCK KNOCK JOKE!!!!!!

Let’s shift over to an excerpt before I break from the Knock Knock pressure.

Excerpt

I felt like a rock star, getting out of the limo, crossing the tarmac and walking up the stairs to the waiting private jet. Not the same jet as we flew in last time. This one was bigger. On its tail, in bright red lettering were the words Marian Enterprises.

Once on board, Mark pointed to a door toward the back of the plane. “There is a bedroom there, if you want to go back to sleep.”

“No. Thank you. I think I’m awake. But I do remember being told something about breakfast.”

Verona, the flight attendant, stepped next to me and held out a cup of coffee. “I will serve breakfast once the plane is up.”

I remembered her from the flight home from England. Then she didn’t seem happy I was with Mark and I got the same impression now, but her coffee was fabulous so I was willing to cut her a break.

The pilot announced we would be leaving shortly and could we kindly take our seats.

I clicked my seatbelt and sipped a mouthful of coffee. “Hmm. I could really get used to being with you. Oh… uh…” Damn. I hadn’t meant to say that out loud.

Mark held his coffee mug. “I’m glad.”

I’m glad? That’s it. I, accidentally, blurt out how I feel and I get a two-word response.

He sighed. “That was a rather pathetic response, wasn’t it?”

I raised my cup to my lips and muffled my Uh huh reply with a slurp of coffee.

“Your statement caught me off guard.” He placed his mug on the side table and shifted to face me. “Let me try again. I heard what you said. Although, I am guessing you did not mean to say it out loud.”

You got that in one.

From the author of the Two Hearts One Love Trilogy, multi-published, hot romance author Daryl Devoré’s latest book revolves around deceit, betrayal, passion and the theft of a multi-million-dollar, rare, red diamond.

As if multiple planes crashes, a car accident, and a concussion isn’t enough, carefree Byn and straight-laced billionaire, Mark clash over Byn’s need for independence and Mark’s struggle with guilt pushing him in the opposite direction of love. When an art forger, an art thief and a ninety-five-year-old woman get involved the chance for true love for Byn and Mark fades.

All is lost until a children’s game is their only hope.

Meet Daryl Devore

Two writers in one. Daryl Devoré writes hot romances with sexy heroes and strong heroines. Victoria Adams is Daryl’s alter ego when she’s inspired to write sweet romances with little to no heat.

Daryl (@daryldevore) lives in an old farmhouse in Ontario, Canada, with her husband, two black cats – Licorice and Ginny-Furr Purrkins – and some house ghosts. Her daughter is grown and has flown the nest. Daryl loves to take long walks on her quiet country road or snowshoe across the back acres, and in the summer, kayak along the St. Lawrence River. She has touched a moon rock, a mammoth, and a meteorite. She’s been deep in the ocean in a submarine, flown high over Niagara Falls in a helicopter, and used the ladies room in a royal palace. Life’s an adventure and Daryl’s having fun living it.
