Today’s guest is Meredith Bond. Merry writes about witches she calls Vallen (Latin for The Powerful).

Hello, Merry, tell us about a favorite trick you pulled.

I haven’t pulled any tricks on a family or co-worker, but I did sort do so to my readers (mwa-ha-ha-ha, ahem, sorry). I have a Regency romance called My Lord Ghost which is all about a woman who is sent (disgraced) to a home her father inherits. She’s shocked to discover that the house is haunted!! A ghost inhabits the house, moaning and groaning and shuffling around throughout the night. He rattles walls filled with medieval arms and shouts at visitors to get out and stay out!

Our intrepid heroine, however, isn’t about to be scared off, however. Instead, she speaks with the ghost and gets him to speak with her. They become friends speaking every night about why he’s still haunting the house—she thinks that she can get him to “move on” by having him tell her his life’s story, instead she discovers a mystery and some foul play. And then someone tries to kill her.

So, what’s the trick? Well, you’ll have to read the book to find out, won’t you? 😊

Cat: Oh man! You are such a tease!  I will have to check this out! What are your top 5-6 favorite things about Halloween or fall.

Merry: Book: I’ve got a new fav… An anthology which I’m a part of: Rogues Come Out At Night – they’re fun, otherworldly Regency romances. https://www.amazon.com/Rogues-Come-out-at-Night-ebook/dp/B07STY2ZD9/

Food: Pumpkin pie!

Drink: Hot spiced apple cider

Activity: I used to have great fun decorating my house for Halloween with my kids. We’d got to a local farm to get pumpkins, carve some and bake some into pies. Fun and delicious!

Add your own: It’s always a good day to go for a walk in the graveyard, but especially on All Saints Day.

Cat: I love Halloween and making treats for the kids or themed dinners do you have a favorite craft or recipe?

Merry: I love eating fresh pumpkin. I just cook it well in the microwave until it’s soft, then throw it into the food processor with two well-beaten egg whites, a teaspoon (or two, depending on how much there is) of cinnamon, a dash of nutmeg, and a tablespoon of brown sugar. Blend, reheat and enjoy!

Cat: I love Pumpkin too. What book have you come to talk about today?

 Destined for power…

Prophecy foretold the coming of one who would be the most powerful of the Vallen, destined to renew their magical energies. Born male, instead of the anticipated female, Morgan Vallentyn is outcast from birth, banished to the forest by his vengeful mother. His magic weakened, and caged by unknown forces, one goal drives Morgan: if he can’t harness his powers by his birthday, another will take his destined place.

Bound by convention…

Adriana Hayden paints with rare passion and vision. But Regency England is no place for such an unconventional woman. Fleeing from a proposed marriage arranged by her domineering guardian, Adriana escapes to the forest and into the arms of a mysterious man with strange powers. A man who unleashes forces she never suspected existed.

A coming storm…

As the summer solstice approaches, the electricity crackling between Morgan and Adrian is only a prelude to the building tempest crackling across the skies. There’s magic in the storm they create together, but to fulfill their destinies, each must find the key to unlock the powers in the other and claim the most powerful magic of all.
