Today’s guest is Trevann Rogers. Trevann writes about creatures of the night, including vampires, Weres, incubi and rock stars.

Hello Trevann, What are your top 5-6 favorite things about Halloween?

Top 5 things about Halloween/Fall:

  1. I love that many people decorate their homes for Halloween.  It’s almost as much fun to drive around looking at houses at Halloween as it is at Christmas. Moreover, the colors of autumn trees are breathtaking.  I don’t get to hike much anymore but driving through rural areas is a real treat.
  2. Finally getting to wear some of my favorite sweaters.
  3. Apple cider, hot or cold.
  4. Haunted houses!
  5. Abundance of horror movies to choose from.

Movie: My favorite movie for Halloween is Hill House, the original black and white version.  It manages to scare the pants off me without any special effects or cinematic tricks.

Book: Legend of Sleepy Hollow.  It is really the only book I’ve read that has that Halloween feel.

Food: Other than chocolate, I don’t really associate Halloween with food, although I do have fond memories of the homemade popcorn balls one neighbor from my childhood handed out.

Drink: I can’t get through Halloween without a cup of the lime sherbet punch served at every kid’s Halloween party.  I do leave out the plastic bugs these days.

Activity:  My partner and I drag a fire pit onto our driveway, dress up like scary witches and give out treats by the orange glow of the fire.  It’s as fun as it sounds.

Cat: I love Halloween and making treats for the kids or themed dinners do you have a favorite craft or recipe?

Trevann: My favorite recipe is one that has been in my family for decades, although to be honest I have no idea where or with whom it originated.

Pumpkin dip:

2 cups powdered sugar

8oz cream cheese softened

15 ounces of pumpkin (canned or pureed)

2 teaspoons cinnamon

Makes approximately 4 cups. Recipe can be doubled easily.

Serve with ginger snaps for dipping! YUMMY!

Cat: This sounds yummy I may have to try it since I love all things pumpkin. Thanks for sharing What book have you come to talk about today?

Trevann: I am thrilled to have one of my stories included to be in a large collection of supernatural/paranormal romance novellas.
