Wow, time sure flies. This year is half over and in another month I will be a great grandma. Todays menu Monday I’m sharing pictures of the shower and tips for throwing a nice one on a budget.
Our theme is baby elephants and we have been scouring Pinterest for months. We found a cute table decoration with a baby elephant and it’s a girl in a little bucket. We made our own version. I had plenty mason jars so we panted them gold Tied ribbons around them with little bottles glued on. With my Cameo I cute out Elephant shapes ( several sizes for other projects too). We made flowers from baby washcloths and stuck in the jars.

We made this Banner with the babies name and cute grandparent corsages

We made a frame to do selfies and lots of props, What we thought would be the biggest hit, no-one used it but Kira and her mom.

our shower to yours
The cookies were a pinterest flop though they tasted great. I managed to save them though I had to make them pink. They went over well, I didn’t even get one.

The food we kept simple. we had fruit and fruit dip, Veggies and ranch, rotel dip and chips, ham and cheese sliders, smokies wrapped in bacon, BBQ smokies, cheesecake, mini cupcakes and cookies. The fruit dip is a package of softened cream cheese and a carton of cool whip. It calls for vanilla and a little Splenda but I leave out the sweetener and add a little coffee house syrups in cheesecake flavor ( My granddaughters favorite.) The punch is also a simple One bottle of soda or juice whatever flavor you want, ginger ale or Sprite, A big container of punch or whatever flavor you like and a container of sherbert. Our them was strawberry so we used strawberry soda, Sprite, a berry punch and the lime, raspberry orange mixed sherbert. The sliders simply put a slice of hame and a piece of swiss cheese on Hawaiian rolls cover the pan with foil bake at 350 for about 10 minutes.

I had lots f the dishes, we got the cups, napkins utensils, and clear bowls and trays at the dollar tree for a dollar.
Here is the grandie girl opening gifts and with the frame.

It has been a hectic couple of weeks, but I think it came out well. We had a crowd and everything went over well.
Do you like the elephant theme? What was the theme you used when you had babies?
