Week17′ of the 52weekMWRblogchallenge’s topic is Favorite Romance Genre to Read or Write. It would be easier for me to answer what won’t I read. Averaging reading over 200 books a year I can’t be too picky or I may get bored. I like to vary what I read. Give me a cup of coffee, tea, cocoa or a glass of wine and a book and I am happy
However, there are a few things I don’t read. I do not read pure porn. I’m not a huge fan of erotica but I will read some erotic romance if its got a good storyline and tastefully written. I even read some BDSM and Ds but am pretty choosy about those. Mostly those are by favorite authors and I know what I am getting. I occasionally take a chance on a new author if the blurb sounds good again these need to have a very good storyline and not be all about the BDSM .I actually have a few favorite series that are BDSM.
I don’t like ones with hardcore beatings, golden showers or other really nasty stuff I do have my limits.A big no on those Daddy books.
Things I will read but not my favorites are a motorcycle club, fight club, secret baby, stepbrother and billionaire romances.

Give me a cowboy, detective, military man, man in uniform, May/December, a second chance, friends to lovers or enemies to lovers I’ll snap it up. I also like suspense, cozy and Paranormal and I read both mainstream and LGBTQ. I am also a sucker for any kind of holiday story especially Christmas ones any time of the year.

As for my writing, it’s just about as diversified. I write on the sweet and spicy side and my genres are country romance, cowboys, and cowgirls, farmers ranchers, contemporary M/ F with a touch of humor, M/M contemporary, a prospect baseball league and even some paranormal. I even write children’s stories.
What are your favorite stories to read or write? Anything you won’t read no matter who writes it?

That is a tough call. Fantasy has to be my all time favorite genre. After that, I read nonfiction (philosophy, selfhelp, or biographies), fantasy is my favorite fiction genre, but I’m not opposed to a good mystery, horror, or paranormal romance. I will read contemporary romance from time to time, but it is more rare than it used to be.
Fantasy is good!I wish I liked nonfiction better. I have several of those I need to read.
Give me the cowboys and country boys. I’m there to write about them or to read them. I don’t mind military heroes a bit. My preferred genre to write is contemporary romance. I’ll pick up a historical or paranormal romance if it speaks to me, but these past years I’ve been drawn to contemporary romance with a handful of genres for reading.
Oh, brother! That should be SUB-genres for reading. 🙂
It’s ok I understood lol. If it’s cowbboy that’s top of my list I pounce lol
I read various genres in trying to keep up with the times. My very favorite genres are historical romance, especially knights and highlanders, urban fantasy, paranormal romance, and cozy mysteries. Right now I’m reading my first reverse harem.
I like versatility too I have not read a reverse Harem guess I need to find one LOL
