Insta pot is insta pass to great meal #awriterslife #munchiemonday

This month I am talking about my new love…My instant Pot. I saved up my birthday and Christmas money from my dad and son and got a Go Wise pressure cooker multi-pot and a Go Wise xl air fryer.  I am still practicing on the airfryer but I love my instant pot.

Last week I touched on some recipes using the Instant pot like potatoes for potato salad and black beans you can check it out here if you missed it.

This week I am going to share an original recipe I made and one of my favorites… Beans.

Easy Cheesy Hamburger Noodles

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef ( I use the extra lean kind)
1 tsp garlic (you can use more..My husband isn’t a fan)
1 tsp salt and Pepper ( more to taste)
1 tablespoon Onion powder
1 tablespoon onion flakes or you can use chopped onion if you like onion
3 cups pasta ( i used Gluten free  spirals to try them)
1 can mushroom soup
1 can cheddar cheese soup
3 cups liquid I used 1 can of beef broth and the rest water
Diced smoked cheddar or regular cheddar cheese shredded

Brown the beef with all the seasonings on the sauté setting until nice and brown (about 5 minutes

Add soups and broth and water stir well add pasta set on high for 8 minutes let natural release for 5 minutes then quick release stir in cheese until melted.
Add soups and broth and water
stir well

Daughter gave it four paw licks

Hubby wouldn’t rate said it had an off taste he thinks was the gluten-free noodle (Ii think it was the smoked cheddar he did say he would eat again.

I am not a big hamburger helper fan but I thought this was just as good or better. I give it 3 paw licks.
So this one was ok. It was fast and filling. Someday I’ll try again and see how it comes out.

Yesterday I made Meatloaf. I thought it came out great. I can’t take credit or the recipe I used this one Meatloaf

I used beef broth instead of chicken and didn’t cook the potatoes though it sounded good.  I also made a glaze with 1/2 cup catsup 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard  2 tablespoons brown sugar and a dash of hot sauce. I stirred a little of this into my meat mixture the put 2/3 on top and saved a little for the table.

My daughter and I both give it 4 paw licks.

It made enough I froze a batch.

One of my favorite uses other than the potatoes in it so far is beans. I love white beans ( Great Northern) and cornbread.  Here is how I do them.

1 lb bag of beans soak them for several hours or overnight drain.   you can omit this or if you forget no worries.

8 cups of liquid I like to use chicken or beef broth than water to make up the difference

1 tablespoon vegetable better than bullion

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon pepper

1 tablespoon garlic

1 tablespoon onion flakes

mix  Mine has a bean setting I use that. you can add or subtract time. If you don’t soak it take a bit longer. Let it release naturally at least thirty minutes. Once you practice you find the times right for you. here is a site with great tips I used the first time. Tips for cooking White Beans

Yesterday we had beans, cornbread, and fried potatoes. One of my favorite comfort food meals. It was cold and rainy and they hit the spot.

I give this 5 paw licks

son gives it 5 paw licks and I need to make more so he can make them home.

I give it 5 paw licks

Do you like beans? how do you eat them? Cornbread, biscuits, bread, crackers?

Just for fun…
