It’s Under There Somewhere #MFRWauthor #writing space #amwriting

Hi Y’all I hope you had a nice holiday. Of course, I ate way too much and am trying to find a thousand ways to use turkey ham and stuffing. This is week 47 of the 52-week MFRW blog challenge. This year is nearly over. So far I have only missed two. Our topic this week is Our Writing Space. I am one of the lucky few that have an office.  Its a nice size edition on the front of our house and an entryway.  You see, My house is a geodesic dome. When we bought it it had this strange barn shape front entryway that the inside never was finished. It was awkward, hard to step into and had a small coat closet on one side that was falling in and full of mold,

The hubby was going to take it down and make it a front porch instead. I asked him to screen it in, that went to storm windows all around so now I have an office. Right at the moment, one-half houses my husband’s table saw so he can do work inside the house (always seems to be a remodel)  and a stack of wood. This weekend I am cleaning that out once again bringing in my houseplants.

here is the inside though now I have lacy open curtains.

When they closed the shoe factory in town, dad bought one fo the office desks for mom. It is one of those huge ones that was used in manager offices. A beautiful oak.  Dad painstaking refinished it and it sat in their spare room for years. Mom used it for doing their taxes and little else. When she passed away and he moved I asked for the desk and nothing else.

So I am one of the lucky ones with a large office, full of windows and a nice desk, lots of file cabinets as well. It didn’t have heat since it was an addition and three years ago when we got the new heating unit hubby had heat and air installed in there as well.

Let’s go check out the other author’s spaces.

  1. Lovely office and beautiful desk.

I’m glad you were able to turn that odd space into something functional and beneficial to your everyday life.

  2. You are so lucky to have a handy husband! I’d be more than happy to share my space with a table saw, if mine would use it! Not complaining, because he’s a really good guy. He has other strengths.

  3. Beautiful, beautiful. I’m a big fan of real wood, so I love the wood paneling. Just curious, though: can you write while hubby is using his saw?

    • Thank You, Ed. No I cant write with him Working. He usually pulls it onto the porch when he cuts But I get up early to write. I am one of those that like it very quiet or i get overly distracted.
