Favorite Quotes from books #MFRWauthor #blogchallenge #amwriting

This is week 40 of the MFRW 52 week blog challenge.  This weeks topic is hard for me since I have memory issues and I can’t remember things word for word. I read so many books it is hard to pick quotes. I am going back to where i began with my favorite paranormal Authors Laurell K Hamilton. here is a few intriguing quotes from her books.

I love Laurell K Hamilton both the Meredith Gentry and Anita Blake series. they were very different but fun.

“I talk to myself everyone once in a while. Give me very good advice. Sometimes I even take it.”
― Laurell K. HamiltonGuilty Pleasures
“Love is too precious to be ashamed of.”
Incubus Dreams (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #12)
“Sometimes it’s not the optimist you need, but another pessimist to walk beside you and know, absolutely know, that the sound in the dark is a monster, and it really is as bad as you think.
Did that sound hopeless? It didn’t feel hopeless. It felt reassuring. It felt – real.”
Blood Noir (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #16)
― Laurell K. HamiltonBlood Noir
“And then there are the rare ones who know love, who understand it. Who freely give of themselves, demanding only a return of that love , that trust.”
A Stroke of Midnight (Merry Gentry, #4)
“Accidental sex. He made it sound like I fell down, and there just happened to be an erection in the way.”

I fell in love with Rachel in The Hallows series. I don’t usually read books over but these i could read over and over.  I even fell in love with all the bad guys.Trent stilll can make my heart speed up.

Every Which Way But Dead (The Hollows, #3)

― Kim HarrisonEvery Which Way But Dead

“Hey, ah, does anyone want a cookie or something? Oh yeah. A cookie. That would make everything better. Dunked in a shot of tequila, maybe? Or better yet, just the bottle? Yeah, that ought to do it.”
― Kim HarrisonEvery Which Way But Dead
“But a slow, deeply satisfied smile came over him, and his breath quickened. ‘So softly it starts,’ he whispered. ‘Foolishly clever and with an unsurvivable trust. It just saved your miserable life, that questionable show of thought, my itchy-witch.’ Al’s smile shifted, becoming lighter. ‘And now you will live to possibly regret it.”
” ― Kim HarrisonEvery Which Way But Dead
Pale Demon (The Hollows, #9)
“Smile…it makes people wonder what you’re up to.”
“Come on, Rachel!” Jenks shrilled. “You’re a badass, not a bad witch!”

Now for some contemporary romance

“Kiss my fairy dust, Bitches!”
Wolfsong (Green Creek, #1)
“Way I figure it, if I’m forced to have a partner, might as well have one with benefits. If you’re annoying me, fucking you will be more satisfying than punching you.” Prophet grinned, then added slyly, “And I could punch you afterwards.”
― S.E. JakesCatch a Ghost

This one was a tear Jerker.

Keeping Promise Rock (Promises, #1)
“I love you. I want to shout it sometimes. I know you worry about our letters and texts getting read–shades of WWII, haunting us still, I guess, and I’m well aware that nothing’s safe on the internet. I worry too. You need to know that when I say it, when I ask you to say it, it’s because my lungs feel full of dark water, and seeing it or writing it lets me breathe.”
― Amy LaneKeeping Promise Rock
I hope some of these inspire you to try a book. I could go on and on but let’s go see what book quotes the other authors like.

  1. I love the Anita Blake books, especially the earlier ones and also where Edward is featured. The Merry Gentry ones are also fascinating, and Kim Harrison’s as well. Love the genre! Great round up, Cathy.

    • I have a series I hope is the next Kim Harris LOL! If I ever get back to writing it. it was one of those publisher gone wrong deals so I am skittish.

  2. “Sometimes it’s not the optimist you need, but another pessimist to walk beside you and know, absolutely know, that the sound in the dark is a monster, and it really is as bad as you think.

I laughed hard at the “accidental sex” one as well. Great selections! Now I want to go read these books to see these quotes in context.
