Halo is a beautifully written story of happiness heartache and second chances. Halo and Thomas met at a tender age of her being 15 and him 17 they began seeing each other right away and things were perfect for them. Exept Thomas was hiding his family and past. Halo still stuck around when it came out that he was from a poor family and his father was an abusive alcoholic. Thomas had already signed up to be a seal when he and Halo met. When Halo was 17 her parents died and Thomas decided to stick around until she was better. He finally joined them military, and came back from his first tour a changed man. Halo thought telling him she was pregnant would make him happy instead, he ran, filed for divorce and disappeared.
Going into labor early she ended up at the hospital alone, having a cesarean and falling in front of a wounded soldier.
Something about der St. John pushed a Halo and she invited hi to rent an over the garage apartment instead of staying in the VA Rehab.
I loved this story. I have to admit I figured out Ryder’s secret right away and couldn’t quite figure out how Halo didn’t, but the story was fast paced with a good story line and secondary plots. It is written in alternating views, Ryder’s dreams and Halo think back as well. I have to admit I was leery of so many changes but it was fluid and marked well enough it was easy to follow.
If you like Navy Seals, Dark romance, strong leading ladies, cute babies and a good ending this is for you.
