Hi,Ya’ll. I know Valentine’s day is over but I am continuing with the theme of Love is in the air. This week our guest is Tricia Pimental. She has a lovely note for us.
Flowers, candy, jewelry, wine, and greetings cards: these are some of the ways we show others we care about them today. It’s a time of romance, but also one of acknowledging special relationships of all kinds. (In fact, my dog has been eyeing me expectantly all morning.)
That’s why I chose February 14 as the day to officially launch my third book, A Movable Marriage: A Memoir.
After years of being asked why my husband and I move so often–a question answered with accompanying denials that we are neither in the military nor the Witness Protection Program–I decided to put it on paper. That’s how A Movable Marriage came to be.
The premise is simple. A homebody marries a nomad, one who, incidentally, has successfully concealed this trait during their courtship.

Title: A Moveable Marriage: A Memoir
Author: Tricia Pimental
Publisher: Tricia Pimental (Feb14 2016)
“So begins the never-ending journey. The author crisscrosses North America, relocating on an alarmingly regular basis. Along the way she meets an imposing cast of characters, from a gun-slinging landlord to cowboy weathermen to television super star Regis Philbin… A Movable Marriage is a funny and poignant look at the adventure known as married life, and a tribute to the wisdom of perseverance. Come along for the ride. No passport required.”
I will be reading this soon and sharing my review. In the meantime check out the early praise for A Movable Marriage:
“Pimental’s writing style is conversational and breezy, and she is quite generous in sharing her occasional doubts and trepidations. She recounted some of the less savory opportunities they encountered, for example, the story of the bat-infested log cabin near the Canadian border, which is truly a hilarious episode. A Movable Marriage: A Memoir is highly recommended for fans of travel memoirs.”
–Readers’ Favorite, 5 star review
“In a refreshingly down-to-earth and candid writing style, Tricia Pimental honestly details the ups-and-downs of an itinerant lifestyle, and the colorful people and places she and her husband meet along the way. Along with the dazzling descriptions of picturesque France, Italy, Hungary, Portugal, and more, several pages of photos are included in the center of the book from the author’s travels. A Movable Marriage is the perfect book to chase away those winter blahs- a wonderfully entertaining read, highly recommended!”
