Cat’s Meow Audio Tour~How to Deal~TM Smith Joel Leslie #Giveaway

Welcome to the How to Deal Audiobook tour, hosted by TTC Books and more.

How to Deal is the 3rd book in the All Cocks Stories and is now available in Audiobook format in addition to E-book and Print

Jon Brennan comes from a long line of men in uniform; all born and bred to both bleed and wear blue. His family and the majority of his co-workers support him every step of the way, so he doesn’t need to hide the fact that he prefers men over women. Between the job and his larger than life, loud and rowdy half Irish, half Italian family, there isn’t much time for dating, much less finding a guy who can deal with the stress and demands placed on the shoulders of an NYPD detective.
Kory White is cocky and abrasive with most people, but it is all a facade he hides behind to keep his heart safe. As a child, Kory lost his mother to an act of violence. Soon after, he and his baby sister Kassandra were separated by the system. Kassandra was immediately adopted, but Kory spent the next 10 years cycling through foster homes before moving to the Big Apple. In an effort to keep everyone at a distance, Kory has meticulously built himself an alter ego: Hayden Cox, All Cocks cockiest model.
These two strong-willed men definitely prove opposites do attract. Both are stubborn and hard headed to a fault, Kory more so than Jon. But Jon is used to being in control, the one calling the shots, and Kory fights him at every turn. Just when it seems they have found a way to navigate the unchartered territory that is love, tragedy knocks on Kory’s door yet again. Volatile and strong, even in the face of adversity, both men refuse to give up on each other – or their love.

Kory is one of the All Cocks models and if you have read any of the other books you met him and probably disliked him a lot. I know I did. But I love a story that takes a bad guy and gives them a chance to change our minds. This story is a fantastic example of that.
Jon is adorable from the first meet, and his family is hilarious especially his grandma. They add a much-needed touch of humor to the angst, drama and passion of the story.
How to Deal is a great read. However…Joel Leslie brings it to life. Both Jon and Kory have accents and Joel captures them both well. He also does a great Grandma. Joel is a fabulous narrator. He doesn’t just read the story but acts it out. He puts in every deep breath, sigh, excitement, and passion.

If you like sexy cops, hot porn stars, drama, love and some hot men sex, I highly suggest you check out this story. I also recommend the Audio version for a trip or doing chores this will surely take your mind off the tedious tasks!

Cat’s Meow~Rag Doll~Joe Cosentino~#mystery/suspense #humor

I AM THANKFUL FOR…

 by JOE COSENTINO

author of RAG DOLL, the fifth Jana Lane mystery, published by The Wild Rose Press

I am so thankful for everyone who has and currently is supporting my creative efforts. To start, a big thank you to my family and early neighbors who were captive audiences to my childhood shows that included a Nativity play in my cousin’s garage, a one-man show with me waving a hat and cane, and full scale musicals in a neighbor’s garage starring my sister and me wearing our parents clothing. Of course a huge thank you also to my spouse who is my partner in all things, including editing my books!

Next, a big thank you to my professors in college who complimented and gently critiqued my acting in college mainstage and classroom productions. As a college professor/department head now, I try to give back by helping my students find their special talents and believing in them.

Thank you to the many actors I worked with like Bruce Willis, Nathan Lane, Rosie O’Donnell, Holland Taylor, and Jason Robards who recommended that I further explore my creative gene. And to my then manager who further nudged me to give writing a try. A big thank you to the audiences of my plays, who laughed, cried, and cheered at my words.

A huge, heartfelt thank you to the readers of my novels who tell me they love the humor, drama, plot twists and turns, romance, mystery, and surprise endings in my books, including begging for more!

Finally, a big kudos to the reviewers and other writers, like Cathy Brockman, who have supported me from the beginning and continue to read and review my books.

I hope each of you is thankful for something this month, and that the people around you support and cheer on your unique you.

Here is a little snippet of Rag Doll

Jana and Bove did the scene again with a thin piece of gauze over the camera lens aimed at Jana.

Ah, the plight of a middle-aged actress.

Jana felt even better about that take. Their relationship worked, and the energy bounced back and forth between them almost effortlessly. Again Jana wondered what it would be like sharing her days with Bove and kissing Bove in bed before sleep each night.

Herm’s call for action brought Jana back to the scene. Bove’s close-up was even better than the first two takes. It was as if they had been married for years with an easygoing yet emotional rapport.

“Cut!”

“Good job, partner.”

Bove smiled at Jana. “Right back at you.”

As she started to rise from the bed, Jana spotted Christa in the distance with a look of horror on her face.

The young woman screamed as a lighting screen headed straight for her. Stu Silverman, standing next to Christa, noticed and pushed Christa out of the way in

the nick of time. The screen crashed to the floor inches away from Christa’s feet. Standing on the other side of her, Andrew Bianca took his wife in his arms, and she

wept on his shoulder.

Bove whispered to Jana, “Here we go again.”

MY REVIEW

5 Meows

Rag Doll is the 5th Jana Lane Mystery. It stands alone well. Jana is a middle-aged child star that has just gotten back into her career. After two movies and a Broadway play, she is now doing a TV series. Her youngest son B.J. who was in the Broadway play with her has a part as well. Jana is also hiring a new Nanny for B.J. On set she meets her guest star Christa, Christa’s agent Stu. Her husband Andrew and her Uncle Nick an older, havewashed-up, alcoholic star. There is also two couples, and her on-stage husband Bove and his wife or should I say soon to be ex-wife Karen. There is also the director, a makeup woman and a props manager.  Each of these characthaseither a charming or mysterious personality. I forgot Jana’s agent Simon. He is hilarious. also flamboyant and colorful. Literally.

The plot of the story is similar to the other books. Once Jana signs on for a job she begins having nightmares. People on the set start dropping dead and she finds clues  until she solves the case.

The mystery itself is always good. Just when you are sure you know who did it they drop dead or something else happens to change your mind. Again…I was wrong and shocked at the outcome.

There is also  usually a subplot with Jana helping the LGBT community. This time her project turns out to be AIDS awareness. There is also a little about Breast cancer as well. I love how the author takes causes and integrates them into the story with things to help us learn about them.

The story is a mystery, but Joe has a way with humor that keeps it light-hearted and funny, even though at times there are some deep issues like the AIDs.

I love a good mystery/suspense and also a good comedy and Joe has a magical way of weaving them together into the perfect blend.

If you like colorful characters, mystery/suspense, cozies, humor, attention to detail, and cute kids (B.J. is stealing the show!) This book is for you.

Excerpt:

A Little from Derrick

The phone died just as I knew it would. “Love you too, Mags,” I said anyway then shoved my deceased phone into the front pocket of my trousers. A stiff wind whistled through the parking lot, making me move a little faster. Stepping inside the Doughnut Den, warm, moist air and the smell of freshly made doughnuts embraced me. My belly rumbled as I stepped up to the counter to order coffee for four adults and a box of a dozen assorted doughnuts. The cashier was a tiny little gal who seemed a little intimidated by the ugly old bear buying glazed and chocolate-covered. Even when I give her a smile and a tip, she hung back, never looking me in the eye. I was used to it. Ashley, the girl having my grandbaby, she was real quiet and backward around me for months until she got to know me better. Guess I was one scary type. Must be the beard and scars. You don’t play hockey for twenty years and not get battle scars.

I took my purchases to a table by the window so I could see Aho’s spiffy white Jaguar XJL Ultimate when he pulled up. Imagine my surprise when I saw the goalie climbing out of a metallic blue BMW coupe about ten minutes later. Aho took a moment to button up his long black coat then tuck a white scarf dangling around his neck into the front of his coat. He hurried across the parking lot, looking like some sort of high paid fashion model instead of a hockey player. I reached up to rub the knob on the bridge of my nose, a reminder of ten stitches needed after taking a high stick from some chucklehead from Boston. Hell, that musta been ten years ago now. Veikko, he didn’t have no scars. Not a one, and that was good. If you’ve never seen pictures of the old goalies back before they started wearing masks, you’d be terrified of what you were seeing.

“I was wondering if you’d be having a snack while you waited,” the Finn said after he entered the shop. I held up a half-eaten peanut-butter crème filled. Aho smiled then walked up the counter. That little girl didn’t seem to have any troubles chatting and blushing all over Veikko as he ordered drinks.

“I already got you some,” I informed him when he walked over to the table by the window.

“Ah, well, we’ll have refills.” His eyes dropped to the open box of doughnuts.

“Dig in,” I said then pushed the last bite of my peanut-butter crème filled into my trap.

“Thank you, but I’ll have to pass,” he said in that precise, refined way he spoke.

“I ain’t playing no more so I can grab a sweet now and again,” I informed him.

“It looks like you have grabbed five sweets,” he countered then gave me a wink. I closed the lid then pushed to my feet. The man was just rubbing me wrong for some reason. Probably, I was still pissed off about the train ride and was taking that out on him. “I envy you,” Veikko added as I gathered up my dirty napkins. My gaze jumped from the trash in my hands to the Finn. There wasn’t one damn thing I could think of that Aho would envy me, or anyone else, about. “You’re free now to enjoy the delights of life and not be so concerned about a few extra pounds and how they slow you down on the ice.”

“Oh, yah, being retired is about the best thing ever,” I lied like a rug then whipped my garbage into a can by the front door. Out into the cold we went, both of us carrying containers with coffee, and me with a box of doughnut under my arm. “So where are we, you know, in terms of the baby coming?”

“Not far yet,” he replied, turning his face from a gust of wind that sent papers flying up over our heads. “Elizabeth tells me that first time births can take many hours.”

“Yah, so I hear.” We stopped by the blue BMW. “Where’s the Jag? I didn’t think you ever left home without her.”

Aho grinned at me from across the roof of the Beemer. “That was before we were to be parents. As much as I love my Jaguar, it is not exactly the kind of car one carries a child in, is it?”

“Guess not,” I replied then slowly lowered myself into the car. I looked into the backseat, hoping to find a place to put the doughnut box, and saw a brand new car seat all strapped in and ready for use. I kid you not, seeing that car seat hit me puck between the eyes.

5 Meows

Roster Addition is a novella that goes with the Wild Cats Series.

In this book Ashley goes into labor early. We get several views in this book, Derrick, Viekko, Maggie, Liz and a new character at the end.

To fill you in if you haven’t read the series, Ashley is a pregnant teenager, the baby’s dad is Trevor Maggies teenage son. Trevor and Ashley decided to give the baby up to adoption to Viekko and Liz since they weren’t able to have their own. Derrick and Maggie are dealing with the fact they wanted to raise the baby as their own grandchild, and derrick is really struggling with a few changes Viekko has made.

The book is very heartfelt, has a lot going on, and a few surprises along the way.

I’ve been waiting on this story and wasn’t let down and the tease at the end makes me want the next Venom book right now!

Truman Gritt has been out of prison for six months. He is working for his best friend and a mechanic shop and trying to get his life back in order when he gets a call from his younger brother. When he arrives his mother a crackhead, is dead and Truman finds himself  with a toddler and a small baby.  He takes them to Walmart to try to figure out what kind of diapers and formula when he meets Gemma Wright.
Gemma has had a bad day and is stocking up on Ice cream when she sees the sexy ,big, tattooed man with a toddler and a baby. She is curious because its obvious he doesn’t know what he is doing so she approaches him pick out what he needs and a he offers to fix her car for free.
I absolutely fell in love with Truman ( I mean who wouldn’t? A tall dark mysterious man with two babies?) As you get to know his story, his background and why he was in prison I fell even harder.
I liked Gemma  as well. She has  an entirely different set of problems and can’t have kids of her own. I loved her career. She owns a princess boutique for little girls and she also dresses up a lot. I loved all the descriptions.  Once Gemma and Truman meet electricity is there and the sex is really hot.
If you like mysterious men, tattoos, strong female leads, bikers, mechanics, babies and some smoking hot sex this is definitely for you.
I can’t wait to read the next story!

“Several emotional topics — such as drug addiction, abandonment, infertility and unexpectedly becoming a parent — are easily woven together without making the story feel crowded or overdone. Foster writes exceptional characters that keep readers thinking long after the book is finished… The dynamic members of the Whiskey family are the foundation that holds the group together and they are exactly the reason we’re taught not to judge. Let’s hope we hear more from all of them!” -RT Book Reviews

“Sexy and Heartbreaking….I simply adored this beautifully written romance.” -Tasty Book PR

“Ms. Foster, went for the gut with Truman and Gemma. Tru Blue is more than a romance, it is a story of love, a story of hope and a story of courage. 10 + stars.” -Night Owl Reviews

“With her wonderful characters and resonating emotions, Melissa Foster is a must-read author!” -New York Times Bestseller Julie Kenner

“Melissa Foster is synonymous with sexy, swoony, heartfelt romance!” -New York Times Bestseller Lauren Blakely

“You can always rely on Melissa Foster to deliver a story that’s fresh, emotional and entertaining. Make sure you have all night, because once you start you won’t want to stop reading. Every book’s a winner!” -NYT Bestselling Author Brenda Novak

TRUMAN GRITT LOCKED the door to Whiskey Automotive and stepped into the stormy September night. Sheets of rain blurred his vision, instantly drenching his jeans and T-shirt. A slow smile crept across his face as he tipped his chin up, soaking in the shower of freedom. He made his way around the dark building and climbed the wooden stairs to the deck outside his apartment. He could have used the interior door, but after being behind bars for six long years, Truman took advantage of the small pleasures he’d missed out on, like determining his own schedule, deciding when to eat and drink, and standing in the f**king rain if he wanted to. He leaned on the rough wooden railing, ignoring the splinters of wood piercing his tattooed forearms, squinted against the wetness, and scanned the cars in the junkyard they used for parts—and he used to rid himself of frustrations. He rested his leather boot on the metal box where he kept his painting supplies. Truman didn’t have much—his old extended-cab truck, which his friend Bear Whiskey had held on to for him while he was in prison, this apartment, and a solid job, both of which were compliments of the Whiskey family. The only family he had anymore.
Emotions he didn’t want to deal with burned in his gut, causing his chest to constrict. He turned to go inside, hoping to outrun thoughts of his own f**ked-up family, whom he’d tried—and failed—to save. His cell phone rang with his brother’s ringtone, “A Beautiful Lie” by 30 Seconds to Mars.
“F**k,” he muttered, debating letting the call go to voicemail, but six months of silence from his brother was a long time. Rain pelleted his back as he pressed his palm to the door to steady himself. The ringing stopped, and he blew out a breath he hadn’t realized he’d trapped inside. The phone rang again, and he froze.
He’d just freed himself from the dredges of hell that he’d been thrown into in an effort to save his brother. He didn’t need to get wrapped up in whatever mess the drug-addicted fool had gotten himself into. The call went to voicemail, and Truman eyed the metal box containing his painting supplies. Breathing like he’d been in a fight, he wished he could paint the frustration out of his head. When the phone rang for the third time in as many minutes, the third time since he was released from prison six months ago, he reluctantly answered.
“Quincy.” He hated the way his brother’s name came out sounding like the enemy. Quincy had been just a kid when Truman went to prison. Heavy breathing filled the airwaves. The hairs on Truman’s forearms and neck stood on end. He knew fear when he heard it. He could practically taste it as he ground his teeth together.
“I need you,” his brother’s tortured voice implored.
Need me? Truman had hunted down his brother after he was released from prison, and when he’d finally found him, Quincy was so high on crack he was nearly incoherent—but it didn’t take much for f**k off to come through loud and clear. What Quincy needed was rehab, but Truman knew from his tone that wasn’t the point of the call.
Before he could respond, his brother croaked out, “It’s Mom. She’s really bad.”

The Trouble With Mistle Toe

HeartBreaker Bay #2

ebook, 384 pages
Published September 27th 2016 by Avon

If she has her way . . .

Willa Davis is wrangling puppies when Keane Winters stalks into her pet shop with frustration in his chocolate-brown eyes and a pink bedazzled cat carrier in his hand. He needs a kitty sitter, stat. But the last thing Willa needs is to rescue a guy who doesn’t even remember her . . .

He’ll get nothing but coal in his stocking.

Saddled with his great-aunt’s Feline from Hell, Keane is desperate to leave her in someone else’s capable hands. But in spite of the fact that he’s sure he’s never seen the drop-dead-gorgeous pet shop owner before, she seems to be mad at him . . .

Unless he tempers “naughty” with a special kind of nice . . .

Willa can’t deny that Keane’s changed since high school: he’s less arrogant, for one thing—but can she trust him not to break her heart again? It’s time to throw a coin in the fountain, make a Christmas wish—and let the mistletoe do its work . . .

A Little More Trouble With Mistle Toe

“You want to come upstairs, Willa?”

What she wanted was to put her hands back on his chest now that she knew it was as hard as it looked. Instead she gripped either side of her seat with white knuckles. “Of course not.”

“I think you do. I think you want something else too.”

“What I want,” she said as coolly as she could, “is dinner as promised.”

“Liar,” he chided softly.

“Well that’s just rude, calling your date a liar.”

“So it is a date.” His tone was very male and very smug. It should’ve pissed her off but instead it did something hot and erotic to her insides.

Clearly knowing it, he smiled at her and then dragged his teeth over his lower lip as he contemplated her.

Gah. She wanted to do that. And she wanted to do more too. She wanted him shockingly badly and suddenly she couldn’t remember why she shouldn’t. She tried to access her thought processes on the subject but her brain hiccupped and froze. Which surely was the only reason she let go of the death grip on her seat, slid her fingers into his hair, and . . . brushed her mouth over his.
He didn’t move, not a single muscle, but when she pulled back, his eyes had gone dark as night, piercing her with their intensity.

“Don’t read that the wrong way,” she whispered.

“Is there a wrong way to take it when a beautiful woman kisses you?”

“What am I going to do with you?” she asked.
“I’ve got a few suggestions.”
She lifted her head and took in the heated amusement in his dark gaze. And something else too, something that stole her breath and made it all but impossible to look away.
“Keane,” she whispered and shifted in closer.

MY REVIEW

5 Meows and 3 purrs

The trouble with Mistletoe is a fun, fun, fun story to read. It is full of fabulous characters, friends with a tight bond, sexy men, and adorable animals. What’s not to love! Plus it’s a holiday story with angst and humor to boot! That makes it the perfect romance in my book.

Willa is taking a time out from men. She has had a rough past being in the system her life; she takes in not only stray animals to find homes but young girls as well. She hasn’t had much luck in love and sworn off relationships. That doesn’t stop her from tossing in coins in the fountain and making wishes.
Then in walks Keane. He was the first to hurt her and doesn’t even remember standing her up in Highschool. But Willa doesn’t run him out of her shop only because she feels sorry for the cat he is keeping for his aunt, Sally.

I found Willa is likable on so many accounts. One: the loving animals. Two: the loving the young girls and giving them second chances, jobs and a place to stay if they needed it Three: that she would give the shirt off her back or her last dime to homeless people.(Eddie is a blast too)

I fell in love with Keane the minute he appeared at Willa’s shop. I also loved all of Willa’s friends and though this is my first book by Jill Shalvis It won’t be my last. I want to read the first book in this series and can’t wait for Elle and Archer.

If you like pet shop owners, women that are not a size two, hot flippers, fun characters, mistletoe, holiday stories, romance, hot sex and adorable animals, you will love this one. I highly recommend it!
