Cat’s meow~~Hide and Seek By T.M. Smith #newrelease #sexymen

Dusty Anderson left his hometown in Justin, Texas for the Big Apple not long after graduating high school with dreams of becoming an actor. A year later, no closer to realizing his dream but pretty damn close to being broke, he comes across a flyer in a local gay bar that provides a solution to his dilemma. Six years later, Dusty has all but forgotten his dream to be an actor. The family he gained when he went to work at All Cocks and the job itself are enough for him, for now at least.

David Thompson is barely twenty-one, high on life and starting his second year at NYU as an Art student. Now that he is old enough to enjoy the city’s night life, David finds his first crush at a local hot spot in the village, The Monster Bar. Young love is laid to rest though, when David comes out to his mother and older brother with disastrous results.

A tragic incident at the hands of David’s brother changes the course of all of their lives and brings the two together, but is it coincidence or fate? Regardless of unlikely circumstance, Dusty is inexplicably drawn to David, who suddenly finds himself alone in the world. Protective of David from the start, Dusty realizes his extended family at All Cocks and his best friend Kory will not understand this new relationship. Fearing the worst, Dusty plays a dangerous game of hide and seek, risking everything to keep David safe and sheltered.

But hiding can only last for so long, and David and Dusty aren’t the only ones dealing with uncertainties. The Dimir men find that the one thing they’ve longed for might be within reach and Dusty’s father, Dean, arrives in town unexpectedly with secrets of his own. Truths come out and trust is put to the test. Can the All Cocks family find the happiness they deserve?

This is the 6th book in the All Cocks stories series, the series would read best if read in order, but each book can be read as a standalone story.

“This was a sweet story, aside from the bad things David must overcome, and I was not disappointed with any of it. The All Cocks family continues to grow, and I can’t wait to see what’s coming next.”
– Just Jen from The Blogger Girls

“This series is fabulous. Each set of men have their own trials and tribulations and are connected like a large family. Each time I read a story in this book I say this is my favorite. They just get better and better. I have no idea how T.M. Smith will top this but I can’t wait to see.”

Hide and Seek is book 6 in the All Cocks Stories It can stand alone fairly well, but I suggest you read them all so you have a better grasp of all the other characters.Several characters do recur.

This is Dusty and David’s story and is a beautiful but sad story. I warn you to have a box of tissue handy.

Dusty is at the hospital to support his best friend Kory, while his boyfriend Jon is in the hospital after a bad shooting in a gay bar that left some dead and several injured.
Dusty reads about the shooting in the paper and finds out the shooter first beat his own brother and left him for dead. He finds out David is in the same hospital struggling for life all alone and something pulls him to visit.

The story goes on with Dusty helping David get well, remember what happened and try to get back on life. Dusty finds himself falling for the sexy little guy but this causes and issue. Will his friends accept David since he is the brother to the man that killed Gio and injured Jon.

There are many struggles in this story and it is all heartfelt and some quite sad, while others quite surprising. There is also a sweet twist at the end that lightens the mood of such a sad story.

This series is fabulous. Each set of men have their own trials and tribulations and are connected like a large family. Each time a read a story in this book I say this is my favorite. They just get better and better. I have no idea how T.M. Smith will top this but I can’t wait to see.

If you like gay porn stars, tear jerkers, sweet romance,a few surprising twists, and some hot man-sex this is just what you need for these cool nights. I promise it will warm you up ( and make you cry).

“I don’t say this a lot but seriously I think this is one of my favorite reads of 2016!! The storyline had me addicted and the characters story was electric!!” ~Alpha Book Club

“…a fantastic debut that kept me turning the pages and wanting to know what was going to happen to these two characters that had stolen a little piece of my heart.” ~Tamara (Goodreads Review)

CHAPTER ONE

My ears are ringing. The dull drone is amplified by the drumming of blood thumping in my head. This is not from the hordes of people singing along to our songs at a sold out concert. No, no. This ringing is from the understanding of the conversation that just went down. My band mate Sean is nowhere to be found. He’s dropped off the face of the Earth. That means, without him. I have no band. Without a band, I have no tour. Without a tour, I have no career. And without a career, I’m nobody. My band is my life, and now that the other half of the band is gone, I have no life. A little voice in my head is telling me ‘I’m Reece fucking Ashton, and I’m a superstar’. Well, I was a rock God until about twenty-four hours ago. I stand up, stretch my legs in the jeans I’ve been wearing since yesterday, and start to pace my manager’s office in the heart of London. My hands make a fist and shake my fingers open. This sick to the stomach feeling hasn’t left me since I found his letter of ‘I’m sorry. I’ll make it up to you’ in my dressing room yesterday. My stomach rolls again, but my anger tampers it down just for a moment. I close my hands over my ears, but that just amplifies the ringing, and let out a long frustrated sigh when I move my hands.

“There have to be options.” My gravelly voice doesn’t sound like my own. A couple of hours of hard drinking and trying to find the answer at the bottom of a bottle has left me feeling less than stellar. “What about a replacement?” I run my hand over my stubbly chin before grabbing at the back of my neck to try and loosen the muscles. I push off the chair, and it causes it to knock into the coffee table. I turn and catch a glimpse of myself in the window’s reflection. My normally styled blond hair is a floppy, lank mess and in serious need of a wash. Everything about me needs a wash. The dark circles under my green eyes highlight my tiredness. My Hendrix shirt has trapped the smell of sweat and alcohol as I’ve been too busy trying to call Sean to get answers and getting drunker with each dial. My hand slides up to my bicep and touches the tattoo peeking out from under my sleeve. It’s a picture of sheet music wrapping around my bicep. The first few chords of my first number one. It’s my reminder that hard work will pay off. It’s about the only thing that hasn’t been taken from me. As tired and as seedy as I am, I’m itching to go out for a run. I think I got an hour’s sleep on my manager’s lounge. This was the same lounge that I punched and kicked the shit out of when no one could answer me and the rotting truth had been confirmed. The last twenty-four hours have been my version of hell. I’m in desperate need of a shower, but wanting this sorted is my top priority.

“And even if a replacement was an option, what are you going to pay them with? Hugs? You have no access to any equity. The company isn’t going to comp you on this,” David, my manager says while holding his palms up to me. Even when it’s gone to shit, he’s optimistic about the future. “Besides, it was a done deal. Either the pair of you or nothing. That’s what the contract says.” So much for optimistic.

Taking David’s advice, we pooled all our assets under the business name. My bank accounts, bar one, are all managed under the umbrella that is now being checked over by the fine-toothed comb of the taxation department. That equals all my assets, even the money in my accounts tied to the business, are frozen. I have one credit card in my name and was set up for emergencies. I’m meant to be rehearsing on a stage that sits in the middle of an arena getting ready for our first world tour, not chewing my nails in an office watching it all disappear before my very eyes. My fingers dig into the back of the material covered lounge chair, and I lift it off the ground to bring it down sharply. If all eyes weren’t on me before, they are now. The jolt satisfies only a tiny part of me, and I fight the urge to toss the chair out of the window. Knowing that I would have to pay for that window to be fixed is the only thing stopping me.

“I can’t fucking believe this!” My left fist slams into my right palm. Pivoting on my foot, I pace in front of David’s desk. My knuckles rap twice on his desk before I turn to face him. “Truly. All fucking gone?” My right eye starts to twitch. I throw my fisted hands in the air and yell out ‘fuck’ ’til my lungs empty before pressing a knuckle into my eye. The two younger executives make for a quick exit following my outburst. I wait for them to scurry from the sinking ship that is my life before David turns back towards me. I’m fighting the urge to punch someone in the throat. “How in the fuck did this happen? How could this happen? You’re my manager, tell me how this happened! I trusted you that this would be the best decision. Where does this leave me? I can’t leave the country. I have a house I own outright back in Australia, but I can’t leave here to go back to it. What am I supposed to do?”

Rock Bottom is a great story of  not being ready for everything. For taking everything for granted. Reece is on the top of the world preparing for a world tour when he finds himself in his manager’s office with a missing partner and all of his accounts frozen. His manager offers him a home in a Podunk town in nowhere and encourages him to write some solo stuff. Reece is faced with more important issues. He is in a house and can’t even work a toaster, washer or dishwasher. This really added some comedy to a story that would’ve been quite angsty. He meets a young woman who seems immune to his charms even though she recognizes him and is willing to keep his secret safe.  She introduces him to Pinterest ( which is so funny). Little does Reece know that Madelyn also has a secret.
I really liked the story a lot. there is a sweet romance that slowly builds, some comedy, and a big twist about where and why his partner is gone. Both Reece and Madelyn are intriguing and charming characters. Though Reece the rock-star was arrogant and a jerk we find that once knocked off the stage, Reece the person has spunk, heart and is sexy as heck.
There is also the manager and Madelyn’s brother Trent( I thought was hot) and later we get Deni and a funny hotel worker.
If you like funny, sweet and sexy romance, rock-stars, journalists and an all over good story this is for you.

Josephine Traynor is very good at keeping secrets – she’s been a closeted writer for years, but only got brave enough last year to show her writer friend a small chunk of what she’d written.

She’s a mother of two small boys and only told her husband about her book when it was completed. God knows what he thought she was doing on the computer for all those hours!
Josephine’s a lover of tea and has a thing for all things that smell like vanilla. She loves a good book that makes her laugh and has heaps of character growth. Her aim is to write books that inspire, cause sore stomach muscles and have memorable characters for all the right reasons.
Josephine Traynor is not her real name. The pen name is derived from Josephine being her favourite girls name and Traynor is inspired by Will Traynor from Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. His message from that book was for everyone to be brave in this world and to make their mark. This was a huge lesson for her to get over her fear of publishing. She’s doing this for her, her dream is to be a published author, what’s your dream and go after it.

HOW ABOUT A LITTLE MORE CLINCH

Gunnar scratched his number out on a scrap of paper sitting on his end table. “Here. You’ll need this.”

Liam took it, but not without question. “I will?”

Gunnar smirked. “Yeah. You definitely will.” No one in their right mind could miss the sexual promise dripping from Gunnar’s every word.

Stuffing the paper in the front pocket of his jeans, Liam flashed an innocent smile. “You’re right. I’m always doing stupid shit like I did yesterday. It might not be a bad idea to have someone close by I can count on. I’d hate for Kaz to have to drive all the way in from Miami just to bring my keys again. Luckily, he was halfway between there and here yesterday, shopping.” He moved back toward the door. Gunnar watched it happen. His confusion made him slow to react. Liam baffled the hell out of Gunnar.

He chose a more direct approach since hinting obviously wasn’t working. “Of course, I’m here if you need a dry place again, but I’m even better at giving a wet place. I’d love for you to use my number for other reasons as well. Preferably for naughty pics. Yeah, I wouldn’t turn those down.”

“Oh,” Liam said, smiling. “I love those memes people post on Facebook. I’ll see if I can find something good for you.”

This was ridiculous. He had to know if Liam was fucking with him or genuinely uninterested. Gunnar didn’t think he was conceited or anything. Maybe he was. A little. Fuck, he worked hard on his body and tried to always be confident. People liked confident men, right? Something seemed wrong about Liam’s reaction to Gunnar’s every attempt at flirting with him. He focused on the vent in the ceiling above Liam’s head.

“Damn. What’s up with that vent? I keep opening it, and it keeps closing itself somehow.” Without giving Liam time to answer or figure out what he was talking about, Gunnar crowded Liam’s space, reaching above the other man’s head. He didn’t stop until barely an inch separated them, leaving Liam nowhere to go. Attempting to make his story look good, Gunnar toyed with the vent, opening it all the way and thanking God for the low ceilings in his apartment. He’d have to fix the vent later or it would be hotter than hell in his bedroom, but it was worth it if he could force Liam’s hand.

Without moving away, Gunnar glanced down. Liam was craning his neck in an obvious attempt at inspecting the problem. His expression hadn’t changed in the least. But goddamn, his blue eyes were even more amazing up close. They were an odd shade of smoky blue.

“Something probably needs to be tightened.” Liam’s hands came to rest on Gunnar’s sides, as if the man had braced himself to see around Gunnar’s large frame and get at the problem. Nothing separated them. It was skin-on-skin, and Gunnar went hard at the sensation. He couldn’t stop staring at Liam’s face. Liam finally focused on Gunnar. The corners of his mouth lifted in a sweet smile before falling. Liam shrugged.

“Really. I’m just talking out of my ass. I know nothing about heat and air ventilation.”

Gunnar tried clinging to a brain cell. It didn’t happen. The words fell from his lips without his permission.

“Wow. You really are clueless, aren’t you?”

Liam opened his mouth. Gunnar could see him gearing up to argue. Without giving Liam a chance, Gunnar lowered his head and covered Liam’s mouth with his. He’d meant to make a point. That was all. In all honesty, he expected Liam to shove him away or knee him in the balls. Instead, Liam’s tongue touched his. Gunnar’s mind went blank. He moved an inch closer, intent on deepening their kiss. Liam snagged the back of Gunnar’s hair, beating him to the punch. Gunnar’s bottom lip stung as Liam’s teeth sank into it. He wanted the moment to last forever. The instant that thought hit, Gunnar pulled away. He already knew what his life lacked. The last thing Gunnar needed was another fantasy he couldn’t keep.

Liam didn’t miss a beat. “As much as I want to tell you how it isn’t nice to call someone clueless, I’m too curious to know why you’d say that.”

The confusion written on Liam’s face made Gunnar want to growl. Even now, after that hot-as-hell kiss, Liam didn’t seem to realize how he affected Gunnar. Gunnar pried Liam’s fingers from his hair before dragging Liam’s hand down his body, until Liam’s fingers shaped Gunnar’s erection.

“Because you do this to me, and you don’t even know it.”

MY REVIEW

5 meows  3 purrs

I have added several more of Charity’s books to my to read pile

Gunnar has lived below Liam for two years. He has always wondered why the man barely acknowledged him and put it off as him being straight or purely disinterest.
Liam had a thing for Gunnar since they were in school but when Gunnar moved below him and didn’t remember him at all, he didn’t want to get hurt again, so he avoided him. Then one night he locks his cell phone and keys in his car and its pouring rain. Gunnar comes to his rescue. Gunnar is smitten but the attractive man he rescued from the rain and determined to get to know him better. He is shocked when he finds out he is Liam, his high school sweetheart.

So as you see this is a sweet story of second chances, friends to lovers but wait! I didn’t give away spoilers. The story is about fighting ( pun intended since Gunnar is a boxer) to get back one you loved years ago and the other fighting to keep him. There are other exes involved and some cute kids.
If you love boxing, make strippers, bouncers, exes, second chances, friends to lovers, cute kids and a sweet romance that you can’t put down once you start… You will love this.

Cat’s Meow~~Náápiikoan Winter By Althea Williams

Hi Y’all! Today I have something for all of you lovers of western historical, and Indian lore.

Naapiikoan Winter Cover

Title: Náápiikoan Winter

Author: Alethea Williams

Genre: Western historical

Publication date: May 9, 2016

Pages: 295

Blurb:

At the turn of a new century, changes unimagined are about to unfold.

THE WOMAN: Kidnapped by the Apaches, a Mexican woman learns the healing arts. Stolen by the Utes, she is sold and traded until she ends up with the Piikáni. All she has left are her skills—and her honor. What price will she pay to ensure a lasting place among the People?

THE MAN: Raised in a London charitable school, a young man at the end of the third of a seven year term of indenture to the Hudson’s Bay Company is sent to the Rocky Mountains to live among the Piikáni for the winter to learn their language and to foster trade. He dreams of his advancement in the company, but he doesn’t reckon the price for becoming entangled in the passions of the Piikáni.

THE LAND: After centuries of conflict, Náápiikoan traders approach the Piikáni, powerful members of the Blackfoot Confederation. The Piikáni already have horses and weapons, but they are promised they will become rich if they agree to trap beaver for Náápiikoan. Will the People trade their beliefs for the White Man’s bargains?

When I decided that Náápiikoan Winter wasn’t only the woman’s story, some of her background got cut. Here is an outtake that didn’t make it into the final version of the book:

Special Scene not in the book

The brush wickiup quivered with the activity of too many excited women stuffed into its narrow confines. The women’s best celebration clothing rustled when they moved, bright loose shirts of stolen Spanish cloth rippling over buckskin skirts made from two pieces of swaying fringed leather. Some wore dangling headpieces of looped shell, others gold eardrops or nose rings, and most sported layer upon layer of beaded bone necklaces. Female sisters and cousins of the bridegroom, they’d dressed to honor Kayitah, renowned Apache warrior, on his wedding day.

But none of them outshone the bride. Unruly tumble of black curls adorned with so many beads she could barely lift her head, Lame Wolf gazed about at her new family in fear and consternation. The white stripe down the middle of her hair didn’t seem to deter these Apache women at all. None of them treated her with the fear and aversion she’d come to expect while living among the band that raised her. Kayitah’s female relatives had descended on her like a swarm of whirring grasshoppers this morning, and she—unused to so much attention and easy acceptance—shied from their over-familiar touch as they discarded her old clothes and then dressed her in the softest, finest yellow doeskin she’d ever seen.

Across the swept dirt floor of the wickiup sat Kayitah’s mother, Alope, loftily supervising the proceedings. Alope had made the yellow dress with her own hands, from five blacktail doeskins. One doe tail hung from the hem in back, and Alope had painted on its breast with her own hands the symbols of the morning star, the crescent moon, the sun circle and the rainbow arc. Alope had paid a singer for the two months of prayers sung over the dress, asking for the blessings of the spirits on the wearer and her new husband.

Alope had done all this in welcome to her new daughter and out of respect to her son’s choice of wife, even if Lame Wolf didn’t for a moment believe Alope actually liked her.

Kayitah’s aunt, his dead father’s sister, stepped forward to paint Lame Wolf’s cheeks with sacred pollen. Lame Wolf tried to repress a shiver in response. They honored her too much, trying to combine the puberty ceremony she’d never had with her wedding to their esteemed relative. They tried to elevate her to Kayitah’s level in the clan, but too fast for Lame Wolf’s comfort.

“For this day,” Kayitah’s aunt Ugohun said, “you represent Esdzanadeha, White Painted Woman, mother of fertility and life for the People.”

Lame Wolf wanted to protest. She couldn’t marry Kayitah. At nearly twenty-two winters, she was too old: Apache girls married soon after their first menstruation, at twelve or thirteen. She was too poor: a captured Spanish slave, she’d never been formally adopted into the band and had no property and no family of her own. She was unworthy: she still hadn’t fully accepted Apache ways and beliefs and customs. In her heart, Lame Wolf remained Isobel Ochoa Ramírez de Santiago, granddaughter of a rich New Mexico hacendado.

In her secret heart of hearts, Lame Wolf burned to return to that civilized life and leave far behind her experiences as an unwanted captive slave girl.
