Cat’s Meow~~ Reviews That Purr~~Full Strength by V.L. locey~~#Hot #Gay #Hockey #Romance

Hi, Everyone! Today’s post is both happy and sad. I am glad to get finally the third installment of Shot Point, by V>L. Locey. She is one of my favorite Authors of multi-genre stories.  Please don’t quit reading because you aren’t a sports fan or don’t like Hockey. This book is about the lives of the characters and yes there is some hockey, but it is fun and relevant to the story. I am no sports fan, and I love this series.  If you lie gay romance,  I think you may like it.  Warning: You will either love or hate Victor…Check out my review below. You do need to read all three books since this picks up where the story left off.

In Full-Strength Victor and his baby momma (yes, you heard correctly…curious yet?) have a very diversified taste in music. She likes the old disco type stuff. I asked V.L.  if she would share with us Victors playlist.

Victor Kalinski’s Playlist

Victor is Kalinski is many things, many hard to take for some people. His musical tastes run to metal, the angrier the better. Here are five of Victor’s top bands/songs in no particular order because he couldn`t choose which he adored more.

1- Lamb of God – Walk With Me In Hell – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWkhCxCcWSE

2-Slipknot – Psychosocial – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5abamRO41fE

3-Trivium – Until The World Goes Cold – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pm-xlwkQ_qc

4-Five Finger Death Punch – House of the Rising Sun- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXYIxJScSik

FullStrength_APP

What a difference a year makes. Twelve months ago, Victor Kalinski was one of the best and most controversial ice hockey players in the pros. This year he’s playing in the minors, has a paternity case pending, and has just been vindictively outed to the world by one of his own teammates.

But he seems to find life in the tiny town of Cayuga to his liking. A large part of that is Dan Arou, the Cougars’ alternate captain and the man who now holds Victor’s heart. Surely venomous, viper-tongued Victor hasn’t been mellowed by love!

Well, perhaps a little. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t intend to get sweet revenge on those who’ve hurt the man he loves and the friends he’s somehow made along the way.

An adult gay romance from Ellora’s Cave

Excerpt: R-rated

“Is there something about pregnant bladders?” I asked as Dan and I meandered through the convenience store while Heather used the bathroom.

“You’re asking me?” He picked up a package of nacho cheese flavored chips and tossed them into the basket riding in the crook of his arm. “Want some blue cheese corn chips?”

“Sure.” I followed the Munchkin with the killer ass. “So what the hell would have made her cry like that? I mean, is Manfred Mann that fucking sob-worthy?”

Dan shrugged a meaty shoulder. “I’d never even heard of Manfred Mann before this car trip. Think we should try to find something nutritious?” His lapis eyes, those eyes that fill my dreams, scanned the inside of the gas station-stroke-convenience store.

“You’ll be lucky to find doughnuts that haven’t been here since Nixon was in office,” I said as I lifted a box of uncooked macaroni and peered into the small cellophane window. “So is that normal? Crying over a fucking Manfred Mann song?”

“I think so,” he replied, then threw a box of powdered doughnuts into his basket. I yanked open a cooler on my right and extracted three bottles of milk, two chocolate and one white for Miss Weepy Britches in the powder room. “I’ve seen some shows about how women’s hormones are all over the place when they’re pregnant.”

“Hmm.” I glanced up when the bells over the door jingled. Heather bounced in looking cheerleader pretty. “You okay with all this?” Dan looked up from the rows of snack cakes to me, then to Heather chatting up the kid behind the counter. She was all white-toothed smiles and flowing golden hair. I’d bet that teenager staring at her like a besotted beaver had a boner so big it was probably tapping the alarm button under the countertop.

“With her, you mean?” Dan whispered. I nodded. He nudged me back a few steps, so Heather couldn’t hear us. “She’s okay,” Dan said glancing over his shoulder to make sure she wasn’t coming toward us then looking back at me. New whiskers covered his cheeks and neck. I had an urge to slam him against the wall and grind my face against his body, starting at his neck then making my way downward until his balls were pink and tender from the abrasion of my whiskers against them. “Stop thinking about sexing me up.”

A sly smile tugged at my lips. Fuck, but he knew me well.

MY REVIEW

5 meows and 4 purrs ( explicit sexual content and  language)

Full Strength is the third and final book in the point shot trilogy. I suggest if you haven’t read the other two you skip this review since this book pick up where the other two left off.
While we await the paternity test results to see if the child Heather is carrying is Victors, we also have Dan and Victor dealing with the media after being outed and Victor being Victor seeking revenge on the scumbag that outed them.

Victor is not the typical male romance heart-throb. Actually, he isn’t a heart-throb ( that’s more Dan’s job). Victor is outspoken, loud, rude, crude and a real jerk to put it mildly. I absolutely love him! That is one thing I love about V. L. Locey’s books. Her Characters are not the typical and always very interesting.

Don’t let this being a hockey romance throw you off. I am no fan of sports but I love this story. It is easy to read and follow the hockey action, the rest of the story is so intriguing and fun and the story centers around the life of the characters more than the sport itself.

If you like a good romance, Hockey, different characters don’t mind a leading man that is a jerk, like baby’s, a bit of satire and humor and, of course, some hot man-sex you have to read this series!

Title:  PROMISES – PART 2

Series: BOUNTY HUNTERS #1

M/M GAY ROMANCE CONTEMPORARY

Edited by: Tina Adamski

Cover Artist – Jay Aheer

PAGE COUNT – 280

Release Date: March 20th, 2015

Roman “Quick” Webb is one badass bounty hunter on the crime-filled streets of Atlanta. He’s fearless when it comes to carrying out his dangerous job alongside his longtime best friend and business partner, Duke. However, there is one thing that has begun to cause Quick concern and it’s the dreadful thought of living out the rest of his life alone. Seeing his best friend and his son fall in love and sharing the special connection that only true soulmates can, has made him all the more aware of what’s lacking in his life.
Love
Dr. Cayson Chauncey has been wildly attracted to the big, tattooed hunter for almost a year, ever since he performed the surgery that saved Quick’s best friend’s life. Cayson must’ve mistaken Quick’s gratitude for something more, because the one time he tried to make his desires known, he was harshly rebuffed and left on the man’s doorstep feeling stupid for hitting on an obviously very straight man.
Cayson never dated a man who was willing to come out of hiding and be with him. Now at almost forty, Cayson is intent on no longer being anyone’s dirty secret. Having experienced countless disappointments, and having taken a stand not to fall for any more tricks, Cayson is more than a little skeptical when Quick comes around asking for a second chance to prove himself. The gorgeous man had already made it clear he was definitely uninterested in Cayson… or so he’d thought.
Dr. Chauncey stirred up Quick’s suppressed, most carnal desires from a place deep down inside of him. He’d reacted so badly the first time that now his sexy surgeon wanted nothing to do with him. It was going to take a fair amount of patience and a whole lot of wooing involved as Quick sets out to convince Cayson that he’s worth another chance and that he is the brave lover who Cayson has been looking for.
With a scorned ex and a very dangerous job thrown into the mix, Cayson’s happiness and all of Quick’s promises may not be as easy to keep as they’d hoped.

MY REVIEW 5 Meows–% Purrs ( hot man-sex and adult language)

Isn’t the cover fabulous? I want Roman(Quick) for myself!

Darn these books get better and better! Sexy surgeons, hot bounty hunters, action, romance and hot man-sex what more could you ask for? I thought the first one was good but this one was even better.  I loved Quick. He is tough as nails on the outside and at work but  this book shows a vulnerability and makes him even more relatable. You could feel his need for something more, the longing in him and in Chauncey as well. I loved how the Dr is not too feminine but a contrast to  Quick. A.E really laid these two men out raw for us.  Then we had Dr. Joe.  He really made things scary, amping up the action in the story.  There is a lot of suspense as well as the romance.  then there is the sex. All I can say is wow!

If you like bounty hunters, Dr’s, action, suspense, drama, romance and hot man-sex this is definitely a book for you.  I do suggest you read book one first but it’s not totally necessary but you will see how quick and Chauncey met and the circumstance, plus more about his son and Duke that is mentioned a lot.  I personally feel you would enjoy this book better if you read the first.

review enticing journey
5 meows and 5 purrs ( explicit sexual content)
Alec is a very well-respected lawyer. He has it all. Looks, a great job, respect, wealth. Well, not all. The one thing missing he has written off as something he can never have. A relationship and love. Alec is so far in the closet he can’t find himself. He gets his needs met on occasion by casual hookups, but lately, that hasn’t been enough. Alec needs that one thing he knows he can never have. He feels empty and unfulfilled. Until he picks up a feisty young man one Friday evening that rocks his world more than in the bedroom. Things get worse Monday morning when Ed shows up as the new man hired for his team. Alec finds out not only is Ed great in bed, but also a good lawyer, hard worker and under his skin.

I absolutely loved this book. It’s full of angst, strong characters and great character growth. Though Alec is wealthy, he is never unlikable. Though a time or two, I would’ve liked to give him a good shake!
Ed is adorable and knows what he wants and even though he has strong feelings for Alec won’t compromise and go back into the closet. I liked that he held his own and though a twink never was portrayed as weak. He held his own with Alec, and they are a perfect pair. The sex is scorching as well!

If you like coming out, office romance, lawyers, professionals, some angst and lots of hot man-sex this is the book for you!

His companion was still watching him, seemingly waiting for him to make his move. Alec felt irrationally irritated. This wasn’t how it was supposed to go. Even though he only did it occasionally, picking up men was easy for Alec. Buying a drink was more than he usually bothered to do for the twinks he hooked up with when he was in the mood for a warm body to fuck. Alec was well aware of his own attractiveness and used it to his advantage. A crook of a finger, a tilt of his head, or even just a look was usually enough to make them come running.
But this guy didn’t seem to know the rules of the game.
“Strong, silent type, huh?” He suddenly grinned at Alec, all neat white teeth and dimples. “You could start by telling me your name. Mine’s Ed.”
“Alec.” He handed a note to the barman as he came back with their drinks. “Keep the change.”
“Cheers, mate.” The barman winked as he pocketed the tip.
Ed’s eyebrows lifted. “Change from a twenty? You must have money to burn.”
“Something like that.” Alec let his gaze rake deliberately down Ed, examining him from the front this time. His arms were still folded over his chest and his T-shirt had ridden up enough to expose a feathered line of hair on his belly, leading down to a nice-looking package in obscenely tight skinny jeans. “I hope you bottom?”
Ed blinked and choked on his mouthful of rum and Coke. Alec suppressed the urge to grin, enjoying the fact that Ed had momentarily lost his cool.
“I’ve been known to,” Ed replied, rallying. He licked his lips.
“Good.” Alec held his gaze, noting with satisfaction that Ed’s pupils had blown wide and his lips parted as Alec looked at them. God, he had a pretty mouth. Alec lifted his glass and downed his drink. The burn of the whisky tore through him and made his nerves tingle with anticipation. He needed a good fuck; it had been too long. “Drink up, then.”

The Cat’s Meow ~~#Reviews that purrr~~6 day to get Lucky~~By LE Franks

Hi Y’all! We are still doing our Lucky in love month here on the Cat’s Meow. This week I have L.E. Franks sharing 6 days to Get Lucky and I am including a review for 6 days to Valentines since they do need read in order. Read on! LE has a special giveaway at the end!

I asked L.E. If she had any superstitions.

Thank you so much for including me, Cathy. In answer to your question, I only have one superstition: I have to hold someone’s hand on takeoff and landing when I’m traveling by plane. Funny I know. Like I’m going to prevent it from falling out of the sky or from running over the underpaid baggage handler on the tarmac. You never know, I always do and so far it’s worked.  Everyone who’s on the flight with me should thank me!

Wishing you all a Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Keep it green. – LE

About the book:

Mixologist Nick Valentine never thought love was in the cards, but after a scorching Valentine’s Day kiss from bouncer Davis “FatBoy” Newman, he’s beginning to think it’s possible. After four weeks of dry spell, Nick’s losing patience—it’s time FatBoy stop acting the gentleman and just throw him over the bar or Nick may just change his mind.

All FatBoy wants is a shot at winning Nick’s heart. As long as meddling bosses, an Irish hurling team and a bar riot don’t ruin his chances forever, he might just get lucky and take the man of his dreams, home.

MY Review

In order to know who the characters are and how the relationship is like it is with Fatboy and Valentine you need to read 6 Days to Valentine:

I give it a 5 meow and 3 purrs(moderate heat)

Nick is a mixologist and basically a manwhore. He gets hs kicks in the back room, most of the time with his backup Juan. He realizes he wants more from life than backroom one-offs. His bouncer he calls Fat-boy because of his linebacker size keeps trying to hook him up with his cousin, but Nick has an idea to assure that Fatboy quit harassing him and also be his servant for a day. Nick had no idea how this could backfire on him.

I loved Nick, and this story introduces us to Nick, Fatboy, and several other characters. I felt it was a great heartfelt set-up leading to the next book.
6 days to Valentine is fast-paced, funny, sweet with some romance and leaves you wanting more.
*I was gifted a copy of this story for an honest review*

Review for 6-days to Lucky

5 meows 4 purrs( some explicit man-sex)

6 Das to Lucky is the sequel or next installment of 6 days to Valentine. We pick up with Nick still not having been having sex with Fatboy. He is frustrated both sexually and for the fact that Fatboy is hiding deep in the closet and he is out and proud. We meet many new characters in this book. It is longer with a lot of action and some new possibilities of interest for Nick. Will he wait for Fat boy to decide or will he go with one of the new options?
We get more Nick, more angst, more Fatboy and his angst and more storyline. I loved it. The story keeps you on your toes, has humor and nail-biting suspense and we get some hot man-sex.
I want more! More Nick and more Fatboy!!!Please!

I was gifted a copy for an honest review

A Little more 6 days to Get Lucky:

Reaching across the empty bed next to me, I rode out the last waves of my dream alone. I could still feel his phantom kiss on my lips and the sensation of a hand stroking along my thigh.

The rest of it was just a blur of emotions and sticky residue on my sheets—though I could guess at it without much effort. FatBoy Newman had been a specter haunting me at work so it was no great leap to assume he’d shouldered his way into my dreams as well.

In fact, he was at the root of my problem: I’d been having a hell of a dry spell.

Four weeks of near misses had done nothing but stoke my bad mood and turn my balls a lovely shade of indigo that matched my jeans…

Four weeks of dashed hopes…

Four weeks since the most romantic kiss of my life…

Four weeks of nothing.

Fuck the South and its mythology of the Southern Gentleman—if FatBoy Newman didn’t stop treating me like a delicate flower and throw me up against a wall soon, I was going to explode.

It was six days until St. Patrick’s Day, and FatBoy had until then to make his move, or I was moving on.

Praise for PORCELAIN DOLL, a Jana Lane mystery:

MY REVIEW

4 meows 1 purr~~ Low sexual content ( all off page)!

Looking for a good, clean, fun cozy with lots of twists and a very predictable ending.  Here ya go! Porcelain Doll is the second book in the Jana Lane Murder Mysteries but it does stand alone pretty well.Jana is in her 40’s and tired of sitting around in her life of luxury. Her husband is on the road all the time. the two older boys are going to summer camp leaving her with only her  younger baby.  Her agent Simon comes up with an idea of a comeback movie in her own estate so she agrees to it. She is also helping with an Aides Campaign which  gains her a few enemies. Once a crew member dies more twists start occurring and it looks like Jana is on that list.

I loved tis book. There are so many interesting characters.  A very good murder mystery plot, and lots of humor as well. My only issue was that I had a couple very small questions that didn’t get answered( I can’t say what because I don’t want to cause spoilers)…who knows maybe they will in the next book.

If you like  A fun cozy mystery, suspense, humor, and all-around clean and sexy fun this is for you.

I received a copy of this for an  honest review.

Praises for Porcelain Doll

Porcelain Doll is Joe Cosentino at his finest. We are drawn back to the fashions and attitudes of the 1980’s in a character-driven story full of intrigue and passion.” Kirsty Vizard, Divine Magazine

“Beautifully written and intensely detailed, Porcelain Doll is one not to be missed. Flirtatiously decadent with a strong moral undertone, set in a decade of extraordinary social change this is a story of its period that is as poignant today as it was then. Joe Cosentino controlled the emotions that the book encouraged with a deft but delicate touch. Suspenseful and mysterious, Porcelain Doll is a masterful creation, one that was impossible not to be affected by.” Carol Fenton, BooksLaidBare Reviews

Praises for PAPER DOLL, the first Jana Lane mystery:
