Teaser Tuesday~Simon Plus Two~Simon #NaNoWriMo #MMMromance

Welcome back to Teaser Tuesday. I am still working on NaNo and coming to the finish line.  Last week we Met Topher. This week I would like to introduce Simon. He is also in my M/F  Book Base Ball Bats and Cowboy Hats. I loved him so much I decided to write his story. This will be standalone.  I made it so those that don’t care for MM romance can enjoy Baseball bats and Cowboy Hats and those that don’t care for M/F and read only M/M can enjoy this one without needing to read BaseBall Bats and Cowboy hats. It has been a challenge to write in real-time with the other book and not make it sound like the same book. This is entirely a different story.  This way those of us that like to read both genres can read both books and not get the same thing twice.  Another challenge for me is this one is a lot steamier than I usually write. Topher is the character and experimenting to find himself. Another Challenge is this is my first M/M/ M story.  Lots of firsts for me. I hope it you enjoy it as much as I have written it. I hope to have it out late next year after Baseball Bats and Cowboy hats debuts.

Let’s meet Simon.

Simon Plus Two(working Title) copyright2016

Mark laughs, washes his hands and slips on a rubber glove. I wait until he has his goat and is settled.
“About last night.” We say in unison.
“You go first.” I gesture to him.
“I was up late last night thinking about our date. I had a great time. I like you a lot.It didn’t seem like you were as into me as I am you when we kissed.” He keeps his eyes trained on the goat in front of him.
“I’m sorry Mark. I like you a lot. I had a good time talking to you. I think I’m not ready for anything else yet. We didn’t have a lot in common.”
“Simon, I know your young. You probably don’t have a lot of experience. Love doesn’t happen overnight . You have to work for it. Give a person time. You don’t have to be in love to have sex.”
“I disagree with that. I know relationships take time. I’m not that naïve. I don’t believe in sex just to get off. I want more. I’m sorry. I don’t mean to hurt you. I hope we can stay friends.”
We both move our goats out into the field to let them get some sun and grass. I am extra nervous with no barriers between us. He pulls me into a tight embrace. His lips meet mine. Again no sparks. It’s sweet and gentle. He lets me go with sorrow in his eyes.
“I like you a lot. If you change your mind and want to try more let me know. In the meantime yes we can be friends. If you ever need anything you can count on me.”
“Thanks.”
With two of us working it doesn’t take long to finish up.
This morning TJ and I are heading out to the homeless shelter to start a baseball league for them. There are a couple of boys homes, group homes, women’s centers and shelters in Edenfield and Putoxi, a town not far away. We have to see how many are willing to play and the ages. Rick said he would help us and be an umpire. I‘m surprised at how many signed up. We have enough to make a little league team with the 11 and 12 year olds. The 6-8 year olds we are going to start with t ball then move them into softball. The 9-10 year olds Rick said to use a softball. We had a few girls interested so we let them join in their respective age groups. They were too cute to say no to. It’s mainly for fun and to keep them off the streets, and to teach them to get along with others. I’m going to fund getting them uniforms.
TJ and I took the 9-10-year-olds. Some of the other players took the other age groups. We get to meet our team today. We head back to the ballpark to wait for them to arrive.
“Hey, guys.” Rick greets us.
“Hi coach.” TJ and I said in unison.
“This is a great thing you’re doing guys. I hope you know what you’re getting into. This won’t be an easy task. I hope you realize the work. With your chores at the farm, practice, and games you will be exhausted.”
“Yes sir. We thought it over for a while and discussed it. We decided practice with the boys after our practice for an hour three days a week. When have to do away games we will have to adjust their schedules.”TJ replied in his usual cocky manner.
Suddenly a bus pulls up and a herd of noisy children explode out. We have little boys going in all sorts of directions. TJ goes one way. I go another and Rick yet another. I feel like a sheep dog. The Driver and director of them look frazzled. I’m beginning to see why Rick asked if we were sure of this and they haven’t been here ten minutes. “Do you need us to stay?” The director asked. TJ. Heck I don’t know. I was hoping Rick would answer.Go enjoy yourselves for an hour or so.”TJ jumped in and answered. I look at him like he’s crazy.
“It’s cool Simon We can do this. They’re just excited.” He is bouncing himself.
It takes a few minutes but between the three of us we get them to sit in the dugout. They thought that was cool.
“Ok, guys how about we introduce ourselves,” TJ announced. I pulled out the Sharpie and the cool baseball shaped labels we found to write their names on. This will make it easier for us to remember their names.
“I’m not a guy!” A cute pixie-faced little girl with brilliant red hair and freckles stands up She places her hands on her hips, her mouth in a tight line and her eyes squint. Oh boy this one is going to rival all the boys.
“And gals. I’m sorry. How about you start. What’s your name honey?” TJ flashes his million dollar smile that usually melts all women’s hearts.
“It’s Becca and don’t call me honey!”
It’s all I can do to suppress a giggle. Coach Rick doesn’t even try.
“TJ, it looks like you met a girl who can resist your charms.” Coach chuckles.
“Don’t laugh at me.” The little redhead growls. Yes she growled. This is one scary ten-year old.
“Here ya go Miss Becca.” I write her name on one of the labels and show her how to put it on her shirt. I sure am not going to touch her. I’m sure I’d end up with a black eye.
It’s just Becca. Not Miss. You didn’t put Miss on there did ya?” She snatches the tag and inspects it closely. She places it on her shirt were I showed  and grins.
One down fourteen to go. This may be a long hour.
“Ok, Let’s go down the line. Next.”
TJ points to a tall African-American boy with lots of braids in his hair. “I’m Terrence Smith.”
Next. TJ points to the one beside Terrence as I get his sticker on him.
“I’m Jeremy Adkins.”
“Do you go by Jeremy or Jerry?”
“Jeremy.”
I hand him his sticker. The next one is Garry Wolfe. He is Tall and stocky and looks older than 10 or 11.
Akira Ichiro is a small Asian boy. I think he so adorable with his narrow brown eyes.
Benny Graves is a chunky, pale complexioned boy. He doesn’t look happy to be here.
Joel Robertson is an average Caucasian boy with brown hair and brown eyes.
Dwayne Morgan is a light brown-skinned boy with the prettiest almond colored eyes.
Estevan Sanchez and Domingo Alverez are both Hispanic. They make me think of TJ.
Wilson Arnold, Nathaniel Roberson, Darrin Bennett, Larry Norman are all Caucasian. Nathaniel is also big for his age and tan. I can tell he has been outside a lot.
“Ok guys and gal. Thanks for sitting still while we did introductions.” TJ shouts over the din. Yeah he exaggerated a lot when he said sitting still. We had them trapped in the dugout. Coach stood at the entrance I stood at the exit so they couldn’t run around in the field.
“I am TJ, this is Simon. He waves his hand towards me. “This is Simon.
He waves towards me. We will be your coaches. This is Rick he is our coach and will be your Umpire.”
The bus pulls back up and the kids all groan.
“We wanted to play ball” several shouted out.
“We will try out and find out who plays what next week. For now be good to your advisors or they wont bring you back.” Tj lines up the kids and marches them to the bus.

I thought this  was a cute excerpt with the little league kids. Remember this is very rough draft. It has not been edited at all and will undergo serious work after NaNo.

I hope you enjoyed it. Do you have any suggestions to make this excerpt better?  Do you like M/M contemporary romance?

Cat’s Meow~~#Reviews that Purr~~Spring Affair by B.G.Thomas~~#romanceinbloom

Hi, Y’all! Welcome back to  Cat’s Meow Reviews that Purr.  Our theme this month is romance in bloom. This week we have a fabulous M/M romance by the talented B.G. Thomas. Season’s of Love is one of my favorite series, and I was thrilled when B.G. agreed to stop by for a visit!.  I asked B.G. the inspiration behind this enchanting series.

So the adorable Cathy asked me where I got the idea and how I was inspired to write the Seasons of Love books. And it was a lot of different things coming together that made it happen. One is that I am in love with the movie “The Broken Heart’s Club.” It’s all about a bunch of very close gay friends and it is just so real it’s unbelievable. And part what makes it so real is that sometimes you can’t imagine *why* people are friends—you’d think they would be enemies. I couldn’t get the whole concept out of my mind and realized it was a dynamic in lots of people’s close friendships. That was the big inspiration. But then, there was also this great Donna Summer album years ago about the seasons…and that helped. And there were the Samoan people at work and I knew I wanted a part of their rich culture in a story. And acting! I love the world of acting. And one thing led to another and there is was! All coming together to make Seasons of Love. I believe it’s the best thing I’ve ever written!

I also asked B.G what his favorite spring flower was. Instead of telling us, like the great writer he is…he is showing us. These are pictures of B.G’s yard.

B.G. told me these are also the inspiration of  Sloan’s Yard.

Sloan McKenna is going through a tough time. His beloved mother has recently passed away, leaving him her house and beautiful garden. But should he keep the house? Sell it? Sloan’s neighbor, Max Turner, is married to an ambitious woman with far-reaching dreams, including moving the family to France. But Max is happy teaching at the local college and living in their nice, quiet town. Then he discovers his fourteen-year-old son is not only gay but out and proud as well. That throws him into complete disarray, for more than one reason…. When Max’s wife leaves on a two-month business trip to Paris, circumstances throw the two men together. As they become friends, Sloan finds himself falling in love with Max, who is completely unavailable… just like Asher. As for Max, he is discovering that both his son’s coming out and his new friendship with Sloan are stirring up feelings he thought buried long ago. Spring is a time for rebirth—Is there any way the two men can find happiness and a new beginning?

My Review

                                                                                                                             Meows 5  Purr 3 (moderate)

It’s the beginning of spring. The flowers blooming all over the yard bring back so many memories to Sloan, not all good. He is sad and lonely after losing his mother a month ago to cancer. He does have three very unusual yet close friends that have been there for him, each in his own way.

The fabulous four, as their friend Wyatt, dubbed the group, meets every first Saturday of the month for Porch day, they have this as a can’t miss.  They also meet up on other days, but those can be optional.

Each of these guys are unique, intriguing characters. Wyatt is a short and slightly chubby bear of a man and very flamboyant. He is also Pagan or a witch and works at a new age store. He adds a lot of humor and fun to the group and story. Scott is ordinary and very much a romantic, searching hard for the one true love and doesn’t believe in any God. He seems to be the go-to guy of the group. Asher is very confident, cocky and a real slut. Sometimes I wondered why they guys kept him in the group at all but it all falls together at the end— and they do it for Sloan.

Sloan, you can’t help but love.  He is going through hell with the loss of his mother and a bitch of a supervisor. He has lost the love of his job with the changes the supervisor insists upon.  And he still holds his love for Asher wishing the day would come that Asher would love him back.

Sloan meets his sexy new neighbor and is attracted to him. The trouble is that he is married and straight.  Max has a secret and though he has denied himself all these years and been always a loving husband, meeting Sloan and finding out he is gay brings his denial to the forefront.

Spring Affair is a beautifully written, poignant story of loss, love, friendship, finding yourself, coming out and life in general. It is written with such a witty, fun style you can’t stop once you start. I laughed. I cried. I cheered on Sloan, wanted to slap Asher and hug Max.  I loved the end and wanted more of these men. (Yes I am reading the next book right now)

This story struck home with me with all of Sloan’s feelings about the loss of his mother; I too lost my mom, even though it was some time ago, the timing of reading this story was perfect for me. I loved how the author wrote the story in both Sloan and Max’s views, and we also get internal thoughts from each guy.

I highly recommend this to everyone. If you’ve been considering a M/M book but your still a little unsure if it’s your thing! It’s not about sex( though there is a little, it’s not real explicit and of course, the men to talk about cocks a lot), its life, love, happiness, and friendship!

If you love romance, friendship, are dealing with the loss of a loved one, are pining for a love you know you will never have, harboring a secret, just want to escape to a fun world and have a good laugh and a cry, I highly recommend this!

B.G. loves romance, comedies, fantasy, science fiction and even horror—as far as he is concerned, as long as the stories are character driven and entertaining, it doesn’t matter the genre. He has gone to conventions since he was fourteen years old and has been lucky enough to meet many of his favorite writers. He has made up stories since he was child; it is where he finds his joy.

In the nineties, he wrote for gay magazines but stopped because the editors wanted all sex without plot. “The sex is never as important as the characters,” he says. “Who cares what they are doing if we don’t care about them?” Excited about the growing male/male romance market, he began writing again. Gay men are what he knows best, after all. He submitted his first story in years and was thrilled when it was accepted in four days.

“Leap, and the net will appear” is his personal philosophy and his message to all. “It is never too late,” he states. “Pursue your dreams. They will come true!”

After picking up a cute guy on a Friday night, Alec’s world is rocked to its foundations when his one night stand shows up in the office on Monday morning—as the new temp on his team.

Both men strive to maintain a professional relationship, but tempers fray, passions ignite, and soon they’re both falling hard and fast. If they’re ever going to find a way to be together, Alec needs to be honest about who he really is because Ed won’t go back in the closet for anyone.
review enticing journey
5 meows and 5 purrs ( explicit sexual content)
Alec is a very well-respected lawyer. He has it all. Looks, a great job, respect, wealth. Well, not all. The one thing missing he has written off as something he can never have. A relationship and love. Alec is so far in the closet he can’t find himself. He gets his needs met on occasion by casual hookups, but lately, that hasn’t been enough. Alec needs that one thing he knows he can never have. He feels empty and unfulfilled. Until he picks up a feisty young man one Friday evening that rocks his world more than in the bedroom. Things get worse Monday morning when Ed shows up as the new man hired for his team. Alec finds out not only is Ed great in bed, but also a good lawyer, hard worker and under his skin.

I absolutely loved this book. It’s full of angst, strong characters and great character growth. Though Alec is wealthy, he is never unlikable. Though a time or two, I would’ve liked to give him a good shake!
Ed is adorable and knows what he wants and even though he has strong feelings for Alec won’t compromise and go back into the closet. I liked that he held his own and though a twink never was portrayed as weak. He held his own with Alec, and they are a perfect pair. The sex is scorching as well!

If you like coming out, office romance, lawyers, professionals, some angst and lots of hot man-sex this is the book for you!

His companion was still watching him, seemingly waiting for him to make his move. Alec felt irrationally irritated. This wasn’t how it was supposed to go. Even though he only did it occasionally, picking up men was easy for Alec. Buying a drink was more than he usually bothered to do for the twinks he hooked up with when he was in the mood for a warm body to fuck. Alec was well aware of his own attractiveness and used it to his advantage. A crook of a finger, a tilt of his head, or even just a look was usually enough to make them come running.
But this guy didn’t seem to know the rules of the game.
“Strong, silent type, huh?” He suddenly grinned at Alec, all neat white teeth and dimples. “You could start by telling me your name. Mine’s Ed.”
“Alec.” He handed a note to the barman as he came back with their drinks. “Keep the change.”
“Cheers, mate.” The barman winked as he pocketed the tip.
Ed’s eyebrows lifted. “Change from a twenty? You must have money to burn.”
“Something like that.” Alec let his gaze rake deliberately down Ed, examining him from the front this time. His arms were still folded over his chest and his T-shirt had ridden up enough to expose a feathered line of hair on his belly, leading down to a nice-looking package in obscenely tight skinny jeans. “I hope you bottom?”
Ed blinked and choked on his mouthful of rum and Coke. Alec suppressed the urge to grin, enjoying the fact that Ed had momentarily lost his cool.
“I’ve been known to,” Ed replied, rallying. He licked his lips.
“Good.” Alec held his gaze, noting with satisfaction that Ed’s pupils had blown wide and his lips parted as Alec looked at them. God, he had a pretty mouth. Alec lifted his glass and downed his drink. The burn of the whisky tore through him and made his nerves tingle with anticipation. He needed a good fuck; it had been too long. “Drink up, then.”

Fame and Fortune
An All Cocks Story– book #2
Love should be multiplied, not divided!

Welcome to the All Cocks house!

All Cocks house

Hello everyone, and thank you, Cathy, for hosting me today. I thought I’d share some insight into the house on Mamaroneck Island that Victor, Andrew, and Mattie call home. The models refer to it as the All Cocks house, because it is their home base outside of the studio in the city. When I started writing the series, I knew I wanted to base it in NYC, but I wanted the throuple to have a home away from all the madness in the city. I researched outlying areas that were driving distance to the city while being quaint and maybe a little secluded. I settled on Mamaroneck because I wanted a house on the water, I mean how much fun will I have writing scenes that are set on water?!

Back of the All Cocks house

An excerpt from Fame and Fortune

When Victor first brought Andrew out to the house they now owned on Mamaroneck Island he thought it was too much, too big for just the two of them. Victor had come prepared for that reaction, though, explaining his plan as they walked from room to room. How Victor wanted their small company to become an extended family of sorts. The models could stay with them and shoot out at the house sometimes. The attic could be their office away from the office. “There are seven bedrooms Victor, what the fuck are we going to do with seven bedrooms?” Andrew asked, still a little overwhelmed at the thought of investing in such a large home.

image15_original

“We set one up for shooting scenes here, the other we use for models. They stay for shoot or if they need home. Fame, fortune and a family Andrew, this is what I am wanting for you, for us.” Victor led Andrew into the master bedroom to a picnic basket, blanket and pillows all set up beside the fireplace where a fire was already burning beautifully. They ate and talked, Andrew finally coming around to the idea and sharing things he wanted to do to the home with Victor.

Yeah it’s a big ass house, but Victor holds to his promise to fill it. Before it’s all said and done, I think they might even have a few little ones running up and down the stairs of their large estate. But that’s waaaaaaaay down the road. For now I think this throuple will be happy with the different models that come and stay at the house sporadically, their extended family of sorts. Can’t you just imagine the holiday parties? I can and I want to go!

Victor Dimir
moved to America with his traditional Romanian parents when he was just a
child. His Romani parents taught him their traditions and how to be a shrewd
business man, but it was the attention of a classmate at school that taught
teenage Victor about his sexuality. When he came out to his parents he knew it
would be difficult for them to understand, but he never expected them to disown
him.
Andrew Jones
grew up with a single mom and his grandmother teaching him about life, he had
an absentee father at best. The only thing the man ever did for Andy that stuck
was buy him a camera for his thirteenth birthday. When Andrew went off to
college on a scholarship to study photo journalism, he wound up falling in love
with his Romanian roommate.
They became
inseparable and wound up starting their own business together: a gay porn
website where people could go and watch romantic gay porn instead of the rough
and tough, or wham bam thank you man crap that was flooding the internet at
that time. After ten years together they were still perfectly happy, not
realizing something was missing, until they met a broken young man that needed
a family.
Matthew Carlson
was homeless, jobless and broken. At sixteen he ran away from home after being
brutally assaulted by several young men that he thought were his friends, and
then being told he brought it on himself for being gay by his parents. Matthew
has done a lot of things these last few years just to get by. When he finds the
flyer for All Cocks, he decides to call and see where it leads. What has he got
to lose?
Matthew has deep
rooted scars that aren’t visible on the outside to most. But when he walks into
All Cocks, both Victor and Andrew can see the darkness in his eyes; they also
see him. Can three men that did not know they needed each other get past the
stigma of society to find a place of happiness, together?
*Advisory warning: This story contains a scene of
sexual assault.*

My review for  Fame and Fortune

Meows 4  Purrs ( so hot you need a cold shower)

Fame and fortune is a very sweet romance between three loving men.  Though Victor and Andrew have been partners for ten years, they both felt something for the sweet angelic looking boy Mattie when he showed up for a job. Both men could tell he was broken and not ready for porn shoots. When Mattie finally insists they set him up, and none of them was prepared for Mattie’s reaction. Now Mattie has to tell Victor and Andrew about his past abuse.

I must warn you if you’re susceptible to triggers, there are back flashes of gang rape and date rape drugs. I will say That TM handled it with finesse, and the story has a lot of light moments and sensual loving sex to soften the harsh scenes.

I loved all the characters and the main storyline of the coming to term with the change in their relationship.

I will say that the story begins moving fast and skipping quickly through years. I would have liked to have seen more of the things that happened than short paragraphs telling us about them. There were a few places where the author told us of things that happened between other characters ( from the first book) that I personally felt should have been left out and this book the first. Now having said that; I still loved this story and all of these men and cannot wait for the next book–Jon and Kory–and all the others. (Yes I read all the small print at the end that tells what’s coming soon!)

I highly recommend this if you like gay new adult romance, angst, threesomes, menage, hot man-sex and allover fun, sexy romance!
