One of 365 plus ways to cook chicken #MFRWauthor #popperchicken

Holy Cow!  It’s already week 49 of the 52-week MFRW blog challenge. This year is going by fast. But no worries a little elf tells me we will be back next year with more new topics! This weeks topic is a favorite recipe. I hate I can only do one!

At my house, we have the running joke that I can make chicken every day of the year and never make it the same twice.  My son would recite the line from The Movie Forrest Gump but change the Shrimp to Chicken.

So

That brings me to my recipe. my newest addition to my repertoire… Low carb Jalapeno popper chicken. Its a new favorite of mine and i make it more than once a week. My son even likes it though e is glad he no longer lives here and only eats it on occasion.

I found the original recipe here. At Aunt Bee’s Recipes

When My grandies, son, and wife are eating I double the recipe.  I season the chicken with creole seasoning before baking. and right now I have fresh jalapenos from the garden.I also substitute onion powder or minced onion for the onion and add some garlic to the cheese mixture.

Two of my family didn’t care for the skins so we use Ritz crackers crumbled with parmesan cheese and butter on theirs.  It’s not low carb but those are not following low carb diets.

If only needing two or three cut that recipe in half. ( I recommend making at least an extra for lunch!)

Now I want a batch! Guess what we are having for dinner tonight!
By the way with all the recipes I have, the internet and cookbooks I have I bet I could do chicken every night for about 5 years and not repeat! LOL

This image is not mine.  check out the website at the bottom!

This is a blog hop so let’s go see what recipes the other authors are sharing!

Waking Up In Crystal City

Once upon a time in a land far far away, the trees were made of ice, the grounds billowy blankets of snow.

No, I’m not writing a fairytale. This happened in 2009 in my sleepy little town.  It’s not unusual to get snow where we live but this particular day was extremely unusual. On the night before it began to rain. The temperatures fell turning to sleet. And sleet and sleet. I was afraid my skylights were going to burst from the weight. It was eerie. You could hear crackles and pops outside but the windows were so iced you couldn’t see through them. The doors froze shut. Suddenly the power was out.  Luckily I have a gas cook stove so we were able to use that and at the time I had a landline phone.  My husband was A truck driver over the road and was trying to get back to us.  He stopped and picked up supplies such as ice melt, bottled water,( I don’t use bottled we have purifiers on tap) bread, extra peanut butter, battery lanterns, batteries and a generator in a town that wasn’t hit.

We had it lucky in town. We were without power only a few days, water back sooner, the outlying communities some were without for weeks.  I also had lots of food and with the gas stove could cook. The generator kept the fridge and freezer running. We didn’t lose anything, where many did.

I had a close call though. I stepped on the back porch when my husband told me not to and the neighbor’s huge pine that had a branch over our porch cracked, it barely missed me striking my shoulder. I was hurt pretty bad but nothing serious. Which was good as there were trees down everywhere keeping emergency vehicles out.

I learned a valuable lesson that day. Snow and ice is beautiful but it can be devastating in no time flat.

This is week 45 of the MFRW52weekblogchallenge. So check out the other authors most memorable day.

Is this Love? #MFRWauthor #firstlove #amwriting #blogchallenge

Yes, my first love was David Coverdale of Whitesnake. Heck, I may have even crushed on his wife Tawny Kitain or at least dreamed of being her. Let’s face it. David was gorgeous, his face his hair his voice, the way he moved, all perfect in my book. I even loved him in his first group Deep Purple.

As a matter of fact, I was a fickle little girl and loved all the big hair bands in the 70’s and 80’s. They had competition tough with Starsky and Hutch and Don Johnson.

Then real life comes along in the 80’s I graduate meet my first husband have a child and real love ensues.  (My husband had thick curly sandy hair too though not as long as the big hair guys. I never was able to convince him to grow it that long.)

Ok, so I am sure this isn’t what week 42 of the MFRW blog challenge meant. The topic is my First love and when I saw this I was at a loss.  I had written about my first puppy love and first kiss.   I talk about my love (obsession) of books all the time.  I didn’t want to be repetitive. I decided you guys haven’t seen my less serious side so I am being silly cat today. It is true though what I said. I do love book hair bands. Now I’ve moved on to cowboys, anti-hero, detectives you name it whatever my mood is I can find a new love daily in books. I still have that fondness for my 80’s bands.  I guess I am really showing my age too LOL!

Now let’s go see who the other author’s first loves were.

My Heart’s Not in It # MFRWauthor #blogchallenge #amwriting

It’s week 41 of the Marketing or Romance Writer Blog Challenge. This weeks topic is blogging inspiration. My post will be very short as I am not very inspired to blog.Truth be told, my heart’s not in it anymore. I never know what to write about that will draw readers. I have tried umpteen things but all a fail.

So my blogging inspiration is this MFRW challenge. I have managed all but one week and that was because my computer was broken and I fit it in the next week. I do post an occasional spotlight and review for a few friends releases. I hope soon to begin posting a teaser again once I get more of my story edited.

That’s my inspiration. what’s yours? Any tips to inspire me? now let’s go see what inspires the other bloggers.
