Beauregard Boudreaux is a native of New Orleans Louisiana, born and raised there, he never thought he would ever stray far from home. The untimely death of his first love left Beau lost, adrift, looking for a place as far away from the pain as possible. Initially, he came to New York to visit a friend, the city growing on him, so he decided to stay. His law degree comes in handy at the LGBT Center he runs, but his bar is his baby.

William Richards grew up in Chicago, his family oddly normal and very accepting of his sexuality. Modeling paid the bills, gigs across the country as a model, male entertainer and a personal trainer giving him the opportunity to see the world. He hasn’t experienced loss or pain as Beau has, the common denominator between them is the loneliness. As All Cocks big, brooding bottom Connor, William has found friendship, family and an outlet for his craving to be more submissive than men of his size and stature usually are.

The two men are perfect for each other, their tastes and lives align and the writing seems to be on the wall. But Beau has a secret he shares with a choice few, a secret that not only threatens to keep them apart, it’s deadly. Determined to keep a wall between himself and William, Beau fights the attraction, pushes William away every time he steps closer. Can one man’s determination and strength be enough to tear down a wall that holds back decades of pain and darkness? And if he can, will either of them survive the flood?

Disclaimer: This book is the fictional story of a man living with HIV. I have put a lot of time and effort into presenting this story as true to fact as possible, without going into gory or gruesome detail. If this subject is a trigger for you, you may want to skip this read. But my hope is that you give Beau a chance to capture your heart as he has mine, and William’s.

My Review

Overall  5 meows
Performance 5 meows
Story 5 meows

Beau is many things. sexy, a Bar owner a lawyer and advocate to LGBT centers and runaway youth. He is also lonely and has a secret that keeps from finding comfort in another man.

William is a big man that men think he always wants to so he never gets fulfilled in relationships. He took a liking to Beau at first sight and is bound to get what he wants. But can he handle Beau’s secret?

This is a beautiful story with lots of angst. It is also a story of men making new friends as Beau meets Micah and Gabe and the others at the studio. It’s a story of community and family because these guys stick together better than most families. There is a lot of love and a few sad places as well.
This is one of my favorite in this series as it really tugs at the heartstrings.
I read the book which is awesome but I recommend the Audio.
Joel Leslie brings such great voices to the characters, the tempo is perfect inflictions perfect he just makes a good thing so much better.

Cat’s Meow~~Survival Game by Susan Mac Nicol #LGBT #giveaway

Let’s give a warm welcome to Susan Mac Nicol and her opinion on having online friends.

I want to talk a little bit about virtual friendships and making friends via social networks. Yep, those ones you make on Facebook and other social networking sites. Now some people have questioned the use of the word ‘friend’. They say, ‘How can someone you’ve never met be your ‘friend’, someone you only know over the ether waves and even then, you have no idea who they really are.  Man, woman, pervert, paedophile, priest, business man, serial killer—true, you have no idea who they really are. A lot of them you have no idea of their gender, and the number of nom de plumes abound. There are super heroes, book characters, film-stars and even cartoon characters.

The word friend is defined in the dictionary as ‘a person with whom one has a bond of mutual affection, typically one exclusive of sexual or family relations.’ It’s a very broad and sweeping definition and in my mind, it certainly applies to those people with whom we strike up a relationship over the social airwaves. I talk to people every day who I consider friends. People who share their stories and their lives with me, their ups and downs, their successes and failures, their daily strife and their dreams and aspirations. I have people I know in ‘real life’ who are not as good as friends as these others.  I have people who know me personally and face to face yet have never bought or read any of my books and aren’t really interested in what I do because it’s out of their comfort zone.

And then I have people who private message me, sending me personal voice messages of support and whenever I’m down, seem to pick up on it and let me know they are thinking of me.

Personally, I have made some of the best friends ever via Twitter and Facebook. People who are now face to face friends and where the relationship has developed to such an extent that it gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

I have wonderful fellow authors who give me advice on areas they are more expert in and others, professionals in their field, who do the same and give up their time to make a meaningful contribution to something I’ve written. I have fellow authors who give me their time and knowledge and expertise and counsel to try and make me a better and more marketable writer despite the fact they have their own books to promote and their own businesses and lives to live.

So the next time someone face to face says’ You and your stupid Facebook and Twitter friends, why don’t you get a proper life’, just look them in the eye, and say ‘Have you read my books, the ones I slave over? Have you helped me out recently when I was feeling down, sent me a funny message to cheer me up? Have you heard my tales of woe and actually listened instead of telling me all yours?”

If the answer is No, then don’t feel guilty for having this world of virtual friendships. Whatever keeps you going and happy, it’s worth it if it means something to you.

Thank you, Susan, for this lovely insight and I want to say thank you for being my friend even if we live countries apart!

Now for what we have all been waiting for! Book Nine in the Men of London series!

Survival Game

Men of London Book 9

by Susan Mac Nicol

Genre: M/M Romance

HANDLE…

Kyle Tripper has led an interesting life. Currently the manager of
London’s famous Club Delish, he used to be a croupier extraordinaire
in Las Vegas. But not everything in that life was so glamorous; his
ex was a piece of work. Now gun-shy, Kyle hopes there is someone
special out there for him, and secretly wishes it’s luscious
paramedic, Eric Kirby.
WITH CARE
Every day Eric Kirby goes through the motions. Yeah, he saves lives, and,
sure, he makes a difference, but he doesn’t feel it anymore – not
since he lost his one true. But, when he meets wild, flamboyant Kyle
Tripper and learns there’s a skittish, apprehensive man beneath the
bold façade, the best of Eric’s protective nature kicks in and opens
his heart to a new love.
How about a little more?

EXCERPT #2: (more Pg friendly)

Around ten that night, Eric walked into Club Delish to find it in full swing. He grinned wryly. Life carried on regardless of the owner being in hospital.

Determined to find Kyle, Eric manoeuvred through the writhing throng of half-naked, sweaty bodies, pouting drag queens, and men in various stages of grinding and sex play on the dance floor. He had a feeling he knew where to look.

Sure enough, Kyle was in Ryan’s office, standing with arms folded across his chest as he stared out of the large observation window down at the mass below. Eric couldn’t help but notice the strain of Kyle’s shirt across his shoulders, sleeves rolled up the elbows. His pert arse filled out his well-fitting trousers, one foot tapping to the faint strains of the music floating up from below. His hair colour had changed once again since Eric had seen him last. It was still a deep dark purple but now featured lilac streaks at the tips, and artful splashes that looked casually painted in.

Eric knocked and cleared his throat, announcing himself, knowing Kyle was skittish. Startling the man was the last thing he wanted.

“Kyle?” He waited as Kyle turned swiftly and a look of relief passed over his face when he saw it was Eric.

“Hi. What are you doing here?” Kyle moved away from the window and smiled softly. “Can’t keep away, huh?”

Eric walked into the room and laid his jacket on the chair. “I wanted to see how you were doing. And find out if there was any news about Ryan. I imagine things have been a little chaotic here today.”

Kyle waved a black fingernail-tipped hand. He had long fingers, and Eric had seen their dexterity first-hand when Kyle had done his card tricks. A fleeting flash of lust passed through Eric as he wondered what those fingers would feel like milking his cock.

Survival Game

Men of London Book 9

Susan Mac Nicol

Cover Love: I think the cover is delish, but the title being bold helped bring it together.
Susan Mac Nicols is an auto-buy author for me and I love the Men of London series. This one has a lot of Ryan and Mango from book 8 plus a few cameos from the other books, but the book stands alone nicely.
Survival Game is Kyle and Eric. Kyle’s ex was abusive and left him fearful and broken. he keeps his identity hidden hoping that he won’t come after him. he is careful of dating since he doesn’t want to get hurt again, both physically and emotionally.

Eric has a secret from his past as well. He lost the love of his life but something about Kyle touches him the more he talks to him and goes out with him, the more he wants to be with him.

I love this series and each book I say I love the main characters more. I have to admit the same here. Both Eric and Kyle touched my heart. I love character-driven stories and this one is amazing. Kyle, even though he has issues, is cocky, to the point goes for what he wants.
Eric is a sexy paramedic and more laid back than Kyle so the two fit perfectly. Eric’s job adds some action and tension to the story and Kyles card tricks add some fun, His best friend that visits adds a touch of humor and lightness.
If you are looking for a fun, fresh story, like sexy paramedics, hot croupiers, and club managers, drag queens, and some hot man-sex you will love this book
I highly recommend it.

What’s my favorite Seasons? Let me show ya #MFRWauthor #amwriting

It’s week 38 of the MRW 52 week blog challenge.  I think this week is one of my favorite topics. Seasons.  What is the Best Part of Each Season? Come let me show you!

I will start with fall since it’s right here and one of my very favorites.  I love the changing leaves, colors, pumpkins, scarecrows, decorations, sunflowers just to name a few things.

Did I mention all the awesome pumpkin flavors…pumpkin coffee, pie, truffles? Let’s not forget Apples…Apple crisp, Pie, apple dumplings and pecan is a big fall flavor too. Oh, I almost forgot sweet potatoes. MMMM

Fall also brings one of my favorite holidays

HALLOWEEN

I have lots of new tricks up my sleeve this year so keep watching

and Thanksgiving.

I like winter too. Yes, I am one of the weird ones. I like cool weather. I like snow. ( i didn’t say I loved being out in it.) I like Christmas and all the lights and decorations. My Birthday is in winter.

I like Spring too. I like to see the flowers emerging, here the birds chirping see the squirrels frolicking and all the new life being born. The allergies I could live without. So I spent much of my spring looking out.

Summer, I really have to think about that. It is my least favorite month. It is too hot so I can’t get out much with my asthma. I guess I can say I like the fresh garden food, fruits, and veggies. I like to go on trips when we can afford to and this past summer I did enjoy the water park with my brother and his family.

I do like the fourth of July and Memorial Day cookouts.

these are the things I like best about the seasons. What are your favorites? let’s go see what the other bloggers like best!

Winning my heart is easy! #MFRWauthor #blogchallenge #amwriting

First of all, I want to send well wishes, hopes and prayers to all that were affected by the hurricanes and wildfires. I hope you are all safe and damage is to a minimum. I missed you all last week since my computer crapped out on me. Luckily I have a techy son and he saved everything.  I don’t really have any advice on time-saving, as I am just a kitty that chases anything shiny! I did learn a few focus tricks.. Now to put them to use!

This is week 37 of the 52-week MFRW blog challenge. This weeks topic is Five Ways to Win My Heart. This is in no particular order.

Flowers. Not from a shop but potted plants, bags of bulbs potted rose bushes. These keep on giving year after year and not only a few days. I can always clip a few to bring inside.

Doing things without being asked. My daughter is spoiling me while she is here. she sweeps, unloads the dishwasher and keeps the laundry caught up daily. My Daughter in law also spoils me by helping me weed, driving me to the store and Dr and helping cook a few times a week.

Books. Last year I had an author send me her entire series I had helped promote, beta read and reviewed. I was surprised when that box arrived totally unexpected.  I have authors send me free books quite often, and the other day one sent me two audio codes to use for any book I wanted. I would have gotten one of hers but I had them all. so I let her recommend me some.

Charm and a kind smile.  bay’s giggles, cute kitties and There s nothing like a nice smile, and someone doing something kind like opening doors, passing on favors any act of kindness. I’m a goner! I guess that’s why I love cowboy books so much.

and of course CHOCOLATE!

Now let’s go see what wins the other author’s hearts.

How many can I list? #mybadhabits #MFRWauthor #amwriting

It is time again for the 52-weekMFRWblogchallenge. It is week 35 and the topic is My Bad Habits.

At least this week it is easy. I have tons of bad habits.

Number one is nail biting. I have tried to stop but to no avail. I actually don’t bite my nails but the dried cuticles underneath so I always have sore looking and. I’ll never be a hand model.

#2. I constantly going around shutting doors and drawers. If something sticks out I have fixed it.

#3 I set expectations and goals so high no human can meet them. When I worked I was a manager and my to do lists for each shift were always long. It looked like a lot but would write things exactly. Most of them were small chores and I would rather they stay busy.

I believe this is why I never finish a story. I set my to do list so high that I work on it and never get to the writing part or am too tired when I do. I have whittled down a lot of my workload so that it is more attainable and to put the writing first. I will see how this happens.

I am a list maker. I have lists for everything. Cleaning, decluttering, crafts to do, crochet projects to do, gardening, menus, grocery lists, to do for writing, to do for home, schedules, I even have a list of my lists.

biting nails, not finishing what I start, too long of a list (see what I mean, setting expectations no human can meet personal and at work

I mean well…

That brings me to my writing. I have lists of stories that are finished drafts, some even completed, some that have been submitted rejected and I need to redo, lots of unfinished stories, lots of ideas for stories.

I have a bad habit of starting something then getting overwhelmed and stopping.

I may be staying on track working on a story when a new idea strikes. what can I do but stop and write it down, work out the characters. If not I will forget it.

I also have the bad habit of falling into the internet trap especially Pinterest. I can waste a full day there. I’ll pin recipes for hours and maybe use one on occasion.

Do you have any bad habits? Let’s go see what the others bad habits are?
