Come chat with V.L. Locey and R. J Scott ~ #newrelease

Cat *Beebobs in singing badly to Soak Up the Sun*

“OOPs! Hi ya’ll” *Blushes taking of my earphones. * ” I am so excited! Today I have not one but two of my favorite authors stopping by.” *Pulls out two chairs on the patio*

“Hi V.L. and R.J. Thanks for dropping by. Can I offer you a glass of Tea, lemonade, wine or a mixed drink?”

V.L. – Generally it would be water but since we’re celebrating a book release, bring on the wine!

R.J. – Tea, I’m not a great drinker… hell, who am I kidding, wine please… no… not a glass… just give me the bottle

Cat “Would you like a grilled veggie sandwich, chicken kabob, beef kabob, burger or something?” *motions to the tray of grill food. *

V.L. – Burger for me.

R.J. – What is a kabob? Is that like chicken on a stick? *Cat nods* I’ll have that please J

Cat “I hope you don’t mind the soundtrack I have running I have a habit of turning on my iPhone while I’m sitting out. This is some country,80’s and of course Adam Levine. Do you have a favorite channel or a playlist and what’s usually on it?”

V.L.  – I can’ work with music or the TV on. I get easily distracted. I DO make up playlists for my characters as part of my process of getting to know them better though.

R.J. – I like a whole load of songs, and I listen to songs as I am writing. They have to be songs I know so that I can almost *tune them out* if that makes any sense… My favorite song of all time is Like A Prayer by Madonna.

Cat “I love sitting on my patio reading and entertaining. What do you like to do in your downtime?”

V.L. – Watch Rangers hockey or any hockey really. I like to read, practice yoga, walk, play video games, and read comic books on my down time. What little there is of it.

R.J. – Reading and watching films mostly sums me up. I am a couch potato who loves to live in the worlds created by the books or the TV. Oh and hockey, all the hockey J

Molly my terrier comes up for some attention, followed by Kitness. Kitness rubs against V.L. and R.J.’s legs, Chloe peeks around and curls up in the sun ignoring them.

“Do you have pets?”

V.L. -A few. =D We have two Jersey steers, chickens, geese, two cats and a dog.

R.J. – Holds breath as I am allergic to cats:

*Cat takes the cats back inside*

O I have a dog, Jack. He’s a black lab and he’s just turned 12. He’s in a couple of my books – Last Marine Standing, and of course, Guarding Morgan J

Cat “For those of us that don’t know you tell us a little about yourself.”

V.L. I’m from the mountains of Pennsylvania and I write mostly MM romance, generally hockey although I do dabble in non-hockey contemporary as well as some MM paranormal. I also have an M/F hockey romance series as well.

RJ – I’m from England, in a town about 40m NW of London and I’ve been writing what seems like forever. From essays to long handed fan fiction at the age of 12 I am all about the writing. I found MM Supernatural fan fiction in 2007 or so, and I haven’t looked back. I write mostly MM, although I have 5 titles that are MF. I create stories with a guaranteed happy ever after and I love writing everything from angst to drama to action to family… you get where I’m going with this.

Cat: What does your writing cave look like? Do you always write in the same place or have a few?

V.L.  – I work at my kitchen room table. Someday I hope to have an office but until we move to a bigger house it’s the table for me.

R.J. – I have an office. It’s all mine. I have a standard desk, and a wall that I have all my posters up on. It’s actually a dining room that I have stolen but in my new house I have a study, a proper grown up study. LOL. Of course I have to move first and it’s likely going to be in August. *HELL*.

Cat “Your both on the top of my favorite authors list and I was happily surprised to see you collaborate. How did you come up with this idea?”

V.L. – Rj was hosting me on her blog one day and during the interview we mentioned how we’d love to write a book together as we were fans of the others works. That led to at least two series in the works. Probably there would be more if Rachel didn’t keep us in line. =D

R.J. We just won’t tell Rachel what we’re up too… bwahahahahah. What Vicki said, it just happened, and it’s been the best co-authoring experience ever. The stories just flow so easily and it’s been good for my solo writing.

Cat: What is your method? Does one of you each do a character or how does collaborating work?”

V.L. – Yep, we each write one character in first person POV.

R.J. – What Vicki said, we also comment and edit each other’s characters, and we talk a lot when we’re working.

Cat. Tell us a little about this series?

V.L.  This series is about the Harrisburg Railers, an expansion team that’s working hard to make its presence felt in the NHL. We’ll be dealing with various players and their romances, of course.

  1. J.

Tell us a about this book.

Changing Lines is all about Tennant Rowe, the youngest of three hockey brothers, and always expected to be like his brothers. Much to his brother’s disgust he opts to play for the Railers, even though they are a new team, and not an original six team. He meets Jared, defensive coach, who has his own set of problems, including a teenage son that was born when Jared was only 16 himself. Lust happens pretty quick… but love? That has many obstacles to overcome J

How many books will be in this series?

V.L. – If we follow through on all the ideas we have about 35,000. I kid! Mostly. We’ don’t have a set limit yet.

R.J. At least 35,001… We’re writing until it doesn’t feel right anymore… which I can’t see happening ever.

Cat: Will you be working together again?

V.L. – Yep! We’re going to do an NA MM collegiate hockey romance spin-off series, about the team from Owatanna U.

R.J. We have so many ideas and Vicki mentioned the NA series that I can’t wait to start.

Do you write things other than Hockey romance?

V.L. – My answer is above

R.J. – Loads of stuff, all the stuff… so many storylines…

Thank you for stopping by and sharing. It’s been fun.

A little about the book(blurb)

Can Tennant show Jared that age is just a number, and that love is all that matters?

The Rowe Brothers are famous hockey hotshots, but as the youngest of the trio, Tennant has always had to play against his brothers’ reputations. To get out of their shadows, and against their advice, he accepts a trade to the Harrisburg Railers, where he runs into Jared Madsen. Mads is an old family friend and his brother’s one-time teammate. Mads is Tennant’s new coach. And Mads is the sexiest thing he’s ever laid eyes on.

Jared Madsen’s hockey career was cut short by a fault in his heart, but coaching keeps him close to the game. When Ten is traded to the team, his carefully organized world is thrown into chaos. Nine years his junior and his best friend’s brother, he knows Ten is strictly off-limits, but as soon as he sees Ten’s moves, on and off the ice, he knows that his heart could get him into trouble again.
