#snippetsunday~~let’s lighten up our reads~~sweet romance time!

Snippet Sunday Hi, Y’all! It’s time for Snippet Sunday again. Time to start the year off on a lighthearted, funny note.  This is a story I began in fall of 2014 after a visit to my dads. I loved the delightful tourist town and decided to make my own.  Sweet Gypsy Rose was born. Then I got sidetracked along the way with sickness and lots of family issues. This year I plan to get a few stories written then decide which path to go on.  For those of you looking for a lighter, humorous story with a free-spirited female lead and a sexy banker that has no idea his potential, toss in a very hunky ex-boyfriend that won’t let go and a secret past, I present… Sweet Gypsy Rose… oh and don’t forget you cat lovers!

This is a rough draft and the only eyes on it has been mine… so remember this is a diamond in the rough.

Meet Frank

I come to the coffee shop daily for three reasons. One is evident; to get a cup of coffee. The second is because my therapist recommends I do more things in public. I could live without any people at all being around but at least this shop is big enough even on a busy day that I can find a place not too close to everyone else. The third reason just walked in the door. The women with the odd name and even odder sense of style. The mere mention of her name brings a smile to my face. Trust me she is mentioned a lot in the bank that I work at.

The sight of her walking down the street makes my palms sweat, my heart beat faster and my pants get tight. I haven’t had a woman affect me like this since high school. Don’t laugh. Its true. I’m a 39 year old virgin. Don’t scoff. It’s not only that I’m waiting for my one true love, but mostly because of my OCD. I don’t care much for kissing or touching, the thought of sex makes me hyperventilate. I quit dating a few years back when my last date spread my problems allover town. My mom has been dead for years and dad died almost a year ago. My therapist suggested a clean slate and a smaller town. Her brother, Drake Harding specializes in my condition. He lives in the city about 30 miles away but has an office here in Riverton also. The bank I’m now working at is a subsidiary branch of the one I worked at back home for most of my life.
Every time I see Gypsy Rose my heart skips a beat. My new therapist Lamarr, told me I made a good choice. Of course he would know her, I think everyone in town knows her, either because she is so sweet and friendly or because it seems she’s good gossip fodder.
I catch her glimpsing at me from the baked goods she is ogling. I smile. I hope it was at least a friendly smile if not a sexy one. I have no idea how to flirt. I was going to take my coffee and paper back to the office but since she came in I decided to stay and see what happens. Then one of the reasons she is such a great topic of gossip walks in. Raymond Patterson. My heart began to ache again. He is all the womens dream. Built like a lumberjack and a handsome rugged face. I don’t stand a chance against a man like that. Especially since it seems they have been sweethearts since high-school and I think the entire town has a lottery going as to when they will get back together or married. From what I hear their last break up was not long after I came to town. My hands begin to itch, and my is breathing getting tight, instead of running for the door I take my coffee, find a table in the back and try to calm down. I’m glad I have an appointment with LaMarr this afternoon. He will be proud of me. I hope.

I hope you like my new characters. Next week I may try to find something about Ray, which Frank mentioned.
